"Long post alert!!! But I promise, it’s worth the read especially if you have or are thinking about locs! Of course I wish I would’ve came here from the start but I’m a firm believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason!! I’m at a lost for words & super pleased! They don’t lie when they say 3 times is a charm! I started my loc journey almost 5 months ago & from the very beginning I knew & understood this is a process. I thought I went to the right person the first time I started & the 2nd person as well because they were local to me. See, I live in New Castle, DE which is almost 3 hours away from this AMAZING salon! I stumbled across nappstar_nyc about a week after I got my hair “twisted” for the first time on 12/16/23 & wow was I impressed by all of their videos. I even reached out to Annette a few times & she was always kind and responded so quickly! When I went to the 2nd person to “retwist” my hair she convinced me my type of hair needed to be interlocked & I trusted her. What I soon discovered was I was just not being educated & I was misguided. Last week I decided enough was enough & I reached out to Annette & she told me that I could absolutely have a virtual consultation with someone on her staff. I immediately scheduled this for the very next day. The next day I met with one of her amazing managers Alana. And I was yet again blown away! Nothing means more to me than meeting people with great energy, who are honest, & most importantly so very kind! For the very first time I felt like I was being educated & she told me that they can most definitely give me what I was looking for & gave me all of the proper recommendations on what they need to do for my hair. I was super excited & was she emailed me what we had discussed I decided to make my appointment which was today! Yes indeed I went all the way to NY & I I’ll do it again & again! My appointment was at 9:30am & from the moment I arrived I was welcomed & greeted with so many smiles! This salon is absolutely beautiful but the best part it was filled with an ENTIRE beautiful staff! Everyone was super friendly & super professional! My stylist was Fatou & she explained everything she was going to do & she was the sweetest person! I felt relaxed & right at home! The vibe was most certainly vibing! You can tell that everyone loved being there & it was so worth my almost 3 hour trip there! I felt the difference after she crocheted the first 4-5 locs!!! And immediately starting to see the level of expertise I was getting. When I tell you that I was smiling from ear to ear from the moment I got there until I left, oh I was! I just got home about 15 minutes ago & guess what…I’m still smiling! It was worth every minute & every penny! I’m already excited to see everyone again I. The next 6-8 weeks. I’m finally excited sincerely about my loc journey!! Please note, if I could rate them more than 5 stars, I most certainly would! And she has a salon in Atlanta too!"

"I booked online on their booking site, but found them on IG. I had questions about what services i would need and answered all of my questions and provided the services i needed to book in order to achieve the look i wanted. My Stylist was Kay. She was sweet and very gentle, and skilled. Also took input for changes i wanted in order to get the look i wanted. I believe it was the salon manager that got the video of me twirling. I had a lovely experience. Its so conveniently located. They have a place for coats. Very clean, neat and organized. Not cheap in any sense. Quality work for quality price. If you have any questions always ask and send pics of your hair and your inspiration looks. They were very friendly beforehand and prompt with responses."

"I had the most amazing experience attending a 1 on 1 training course at NappStar Atlanta. First off, the owners of the salon and team were very kind and welcoming! Everyone stopped to introduce themselves, share a smile, or an encouraging word. During the hands on course, you are able to choose the skills you would like to focus on learning. Annette was my instructor and she was very knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and professional. She first started with answering all my questions, then she shared with me multiple techniques to perfecting an array of installs. The ambiance of this place is truly inspiring to any stylist with goals and a dream. I would definitely take this course again! I highly recommend it to any stylist that would like to improve or learn new skills."
