The morning of treatment I met with the team and. Dr. Doshi and we mapped out the areas where I needed some filling in. Dr. Doshi and the team made sure I was comfortable with the mapped out are where the follicles would be implanted. Once we were all on the same page we got started. The treatment itself was surprisingly easy. We were given some medication to help to relax us and then given local anesthesia. I didn’t feel much during the treatment. The first half of the treatment was the extraction of the hair follicles. After the extraction was done, I had a break for lunch and got to check in on my husband. After lunch the team continued with the second part of the treatment which was implanting the extracted hair follicles into the areas of my hair line that needed filling in. I did not feel any pain during or after treatment. From the moment I entered the studio to the moment I left, I felt completely at ease. "I was very excited and a little bit nervous to potentially get a hair transplant. I had been thinking about it for some years now and finally decided to see Ample about it not too long ago. After having a consultation with Dr. Doshi at Ample he put all my concerns to rest and I agreed to go forward basically right away. Firstly, the place is very inviting, convenient, and spacious. And all of the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. In the office there are several rooms including a very large and nicely decorated waiting room in addition to the lobby/front desk area as well as the offices, bathroom and some other rooms. In the waiting room there are snacks even, a cute touch. So I had a lot of questions during my consultation regarding many different aspects of the procedure. I was very concerned about the downtime and I got a very thorough answer. He was very sure of how long things would take to be back to normal and it sounded very reasonable. I was also worried about scarring and didn’t feel worried about it after discussing it. The way he answered all of my questions was just so reassuring, I knew he wasn’t going to do anything he wasn’t confident about, I knew he wasn’t pushing me to get it done (especially if it weren’t a good fit for my level of baldness) and it just made me really feel calm about it all. I expressed my concerns about it looking weird some years down the line and he explained how some places don’t do their transplants the same way and it causes those issues. Those doctors essentially do too much in some spots and it looks weird later on when you continue balding. I always felt that the botched jobs I’ve heard about were done at the places promising too much by inexperienced doctors and I immediately knew Ample was a perfect fit for me. So after knowing Ample wasn’t going to “over” harvest my head or give me unrealistic expectations or offer me ridiculous results I was ready to schedule my surgery. I wasn’t looking for a fake and risky extreme transformation, more what was suggested to me, basically strengthening what I do have and bringing it back to life. So I of course was eager to move forward with the procedure. I had to pick up some prescriptions to bring on the day of surgery. I barely felt anything with the local anesthesia and a few of the prescriptions for nerve pain and to calm me down. But it was really nice to be able to see what was going on and even feel good enough to joke around a little bit during the surgery. I felt relatively normal after it was done, but a little bit out of it. I had 2041 grafts put in the front of my head and a few spots in my beard. Not much pain at all! I couldn’t believe I even fell asleep during the surgery for quite some time I think. The staff really took care of me so well. I really enjoyed the lunch they provided. It was nice having a little break during the day from the procedure. Especially since I was able to enjoy it while talking to my friend that was there to escort me out when the procedure was over. I took some acetaminophen that night. Didn’t need anything stronger. And the next morning I woke up with no pain! Didn’t take anything since (and I’m essentially fully out of the recovery period now). I was very pleasantly surprised. Some slight discomfort in the back of my head when laying down some nights as the head healed, but it wasn’t bad. The team checked up on me and made sure I was following the rules properly. They were very available for me whenever I may have needed them. So my hair now is starting to look pretty much normal with the scabs almost all gone and I’m so excited because it looks great. Natural and not too perfect looking, exactly what I wanted. I know shedding will be happening soon, but I’m not worried. It’s about the long haul!
