"This bakery opened up down the block from my job and has now been part of my daily routine. Convenient corner spot with a nice modern look. It’s tough to rank the croissants because they’re all so good but I think the Praline croissant is my favorite item on the menu. Pair that with their cold brew and you’re ready for the day. I brought a box to my co workers and they’re just as obsessed as I am. A bakery truly blessed by the gods. Keep up the good work!"
"What a breath of fresh air to have a proper Bakery in the area. Very clean bake shop with several options for the sweet or savory tooth. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. High quality La Colombe coffee and chill seating outside. No bathroom though which is fine. Didn't see any gluten free options for those looking. Overall nice place. Will be back soon."
"Ranking my top bites at Somedays: It is no doubt the hottest new bakery in Astoria. Their head baker was from my favorite bakery Librae. I am usually a savory pastry person, but I adored their sweet pastries much more than their savory options. **There was a line sometimes but it wasn’t too terrible. Expect 10-15 min wait on weekends. (1) Pistachio Raspberry Lattice Never a fan of pistachio raspberry combo but I was converted by this one. Perfectly layered with pistachio frangipane, raspberry jam and white chocolate, every bite was a biss. It was not as heavy and sweet as the Librae’s pistachio rose croissant. (2) Almond Croissant Their almond croissant is truly a game changer. It has ruined me for other regular almond croissants. A new batch was all gone in split seconds. I was lucky to seize the last one from the shelf, and it was still hot! The crunch of the croissant was so satisfying and the warm almond frangipane oozed out when I took a bite (so messy that I couldn’t film the interior). (3) Chocolate Hazelnut Praline Lattice Surprisingly obsessed with the dark chocolate and hazelnut praline filling. It reminded me of ferroro rocher with the crushed hazelnuts. My bf disliked it as it was too bitter for his liking, but it was right up my alley and I devoured the whole thing. (4) Black Sesame Tahini Pain au Chocolat I wish they still had the croissant version so black sesame and tahini frangipane could shine on its own. The chocolate filling was too sticky and rich, stealing all the flavors. I could only taste the toasty nuttiness from the black sesame brittle on top. *Spinach Ricotta Escargot The roll was soft and fluffy. It was well seasoned and stuffed with spinach. Hot honey flavor was not noticeable though. *Pretzel Cheddar Twist The most underwhelming piece in our haul. We picked the smoked paprika greek yogurt as the dip but it tasted straight up like spicy mayo (and not spicy enough). The everything pretzel was just okay, nothing memorable."
"I recently had the pleasure of visiting Somedays bakery and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and passionate about their craft, always ready to offer recommendations or explain the unique ingredients they use. But the real star of the show is, of course, the croissants. Each bite light, buttery, and perfectly flaky. The classic croissant is a masterclass in simplicity, while their almond croissant is a delightful blend of nutty sweetness and tender pastry. I also tried the blueberry cardamom which was fantastic. Coffee by La Colombe perfectly complemented the goods. Overall a fantastic addition to our neighborhood."
