Reviews
"This place is great if you want authentic Italian food. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and coffee and everything from the chicken cutlet to the pastries, was top notch. I would give them 5 stars, however the girl at the pastries/bakery section was extremely rude and not welcoming at all. I asked her what a pastry was called and she rudely responded with “WHAT?” then I asked again and she rolled her eyes and mumbled something. They should consider replacing her :)"
"This is probably the best Italian pastry and coffee shop in all of Northern New Jersey. I would say it's worth the trip from anywhere. Wide variety of freshly baked pastries that melt in your mouth made the traditional way. Also a lunch menu and a Gelato bar. I haven't tasted pastries like this since my visit to Italy years ago. Truly a great find."
"So I got some pignoli(aka pine nut) cookies. They were delicious, but at the price they charge for the cookies, they certainly can afford to actually put pignoli nuts on the cookies. At other bakeries there's at least 10-15 nuts on a cookie, with these guys it's like 5 nuts if you're lucky. Penny pinching? New trainee? I don't know, but without the nuts the cookies aren't the same and shouldn't be the insane price they charge"
"Discovering this gem was a taste bud revelation! This establishment stands out as a top-notch destination for genuine Italian culinary delights and mouthwatering bakery treats. A must-visit for true food enthusiasts."
"I originally called here to place an order for a cookie platter. After speaking with the associate, I decided it would be best to stop by and try it before purchasing. I am so happy I tried this place before placing an order for a party and sharing these pastries with my guests. I did not expect it to be as bad as it was. The place is easily spotted off the highway, it is a little tricky to get into but there is plenty of signage and parking to direct you. The inside is well lit and beautiful. You walk in and immediately see the gorgeous case filled with cookies. It is a bit overwhelming. I had high hopes when I came in based on the atmosphere and variety/ availability of cookies. The service is not friendly. Based on service alone, I would not return. I felt like I was the one working… and this woman was aware that I had called a day before regarding a party order and wanted to come try. She was no help. I did not know what to try so I ordered the tricolor cookie and the bombolini with custard. So, the tricolor cookie was a mess. It was dry … very dry. I have had so many tricolor cookies from everywhere and this one is one of the worst. It is a massive disappointment. The bombolini had such a heavy dough and it was heavily dusted with powdered sugar. It looked beautiful… but the taste did not match. The cream was an average custard, absolutely nothing over the top, very basic. It was not bad, but it was also on the heavier side and the combination of the heavy custard with the extremely heavy dough, it was another disappointment. Overall, based on service, the cookie, and the donut. I can not recommend Palazzone 1960 to anybody."
