"The quality of Lloyd’s Carrot Cake has gone way down. Customer service is lacking at best, sanitation seems to have gone out the window, cakes are sloppy and poorly decorated. I am a longtime customer so I say this with a heavy heart. The last couple of times I went there the center of the carrot and pineapple coconut cakes were greedy and unbaked. Other times the cake was dry. The quality of the product is never consistent. The last straw was a birthday cake order for my daughter. I requested cream cheese frosting for a red velvet cake and got what looks and smells like butter frosting. I live not even 15 minutes from the store but when I got home the frosting had melted and the happy birthday inscription was stuck to the top of the box. This is winter time so this should not have happened. The frosting should have been set. I concluded that they must have frosted the cake while it was hot or warm because the cake was not ready when I went to pick it up and noticed that they had the cakes outside on a window sill trying to get them to cool quickly. I would also like to note that this is next to a busy street with non stop traffic. It is now the day after and the frosting is still soft even after refrigeration. I gone way no clue why that is. I hate to image what I might find when my daughter cuts this cake. This is not living up to the high standards Loyds has set for itself over the years.I have to find another place to order my cakes. What a disappointment!!!"

"Heard about this place recently & wanted to come check it out. If you like carrot cake then look no further then Lloyd's Carrot Cake. Scott the young man behind the counter hooked me up with a free slice of cake since it was my first time here. I appreciated that very much. The carrot cake truly lives up to the hype. They started in the 70's & although the original owners have passed away, their kids continue the family business. Grab a slice & sit down across the street in the beautiful Van Cortlandt Park & enjoy the cake & views."
