"I have been a fan of Cadillac for many years. Earlier this year I returned to the brand after a multi-year hiatus purchasing a $75k Lyriq from KO in Smithtown. I can confirm this was a tragic mistake and one I won’t repeat. I urge others not to make it as well. Why you ask? Well simply Cadillac is Chevy with the thinnest of veneer added to pass itself off as a luxury brand. Here is what you can expect after your “luxury” purchase: Sales: Prepare to make multiple calls to sales following up on some issue or question to NEVER receive a call back. Honestly why should they care, they have your money now. Sales: Prepare to contact the top management of the dealership communicating your concerns and requesting assistance to never receive a reply. Sales: Prepare to make multiple trips to the dealership to speak with multiple people about your concerns only to be given endless excuses about how this is not their fault (presumably it’s yours for having bought the vehicle there) and that they will address your issue. Repeat this process several times; 4-5 should do the trick. “Service”: Prepare to be utterly confused when you get a loner that’s a dirty $30k GMC loaner to drive around instead of a comparable $ vehicle. “Service”: Prepare to save your service advisors number in your Contacts as you’ll need to call them regularly to find out the status of your car. No, they will never call you with updates, don’t be ridiculous. “Service”: Be ready to pick up your car after being told it’s ready only to find the problems were not fixed, for the advisor to go back to talk to the mechanic, then to come back to you explaining they needed to order parts and they will call you when they are in. “Service”: Prepare to wait MONTHS for parts (at least 5) and when you call “Service” to be passed off to Parts who will tell you they are on order and have no idea when they will come in, and you should call back in a few more weeks. Prepare to repeat this many times, I mean it is your problem not theirs. “Service”: Prepare for a call from an asking you for a Completely Satisfied” survey response. When you tell them that is unlikely politely decline a call from the Service Manager to discuss your issue; they will promise to make sure “someone” will follow up and you won’t have the same experience. Trust me no one ever reach out, and yes, you will have the exact same issue. If this all sounds like a luxury experience you expect for the price you’re paying—then by all means enjoy. If not I highly suggest looking for brands and dealers actually providing an ownership experience equal to the expectation."
