Hertz Car Rental - New York City Jfk Airport 318 Federal Circle, Queens, New York 11430,

"Pretty bad experiences (plural) at this location. Once was overcharged over $2000 when I extended a rental (thankfully reimbursed after two phone calls and over an hour on the phone). Most recently, arrived at 11pm to find this ultimate choice of cars... see photo. President's Circle / Gold totally empty. Asked a Hertz employee what I should do, and he said to pick any car on the lot. So I did that, and then got stuck at the exit for 30 minutes because they didn't know what to do. The gate attendant was nice, but seemingly had no idea about Gold and President's Circle service. They wouldn't let me have the car I was in, and after a long wait assigned me something else. Not a choice at all, let alone ultimate choice. When I drove back to the new car, a different employee was mad about me parking the originally car I choose next to it. What a fiasco!"

"Very poorly run. Use Enterprise instead. We had two families traveling together. The Hertz website said that we were checked in and would receive a message 30 minutes before our reservation time telling us the car we would have. We never got the message We went to Enterprise first for the first family’s reservation. They were gone in 4-5 minutes. Then we went to Hertz for ours. There were probably 35-40 people waiting at the curb. One person was trying to run it all. We went to the counter. They took a driver’s license and credit card and said it would be 30 minutes to an hour. We went back to the curb. After about 20 minutes, we got a car. We don’t know why we got it and 20 some people who had been waiting longer did not. It was about two hours past our reservation time. The photo is the line of people waiting for their cars."

"I guess we were lucky! We (dad and 2 kids) reserved a large car for our us/canada road trip. When we came to the office there was a small line and waited maybe 15 minutes. Car was amazing and no hassle to get to it. Returning the car after 2 weeks was really easy as well. Just drive it to the return area, leave the keys and off you go. Reading the reviews, it make sense though regarding all the horror stories. When returning the car there were dozens of people waiting and complaining. At all the rental company’s by the way. Again, we were lucky to pick up the car at a quieter time."

"We waited more than one hour after (!) we got our papers for the car. Be careful and control the tires, wheels and everything, because they didn’t do enough ore the workers are not able to do it. But for the renter it could be very dangerous! But least we got a car which is o.k."

"Wish if there was a -100 rating. Look at these pictures at 9:30am on a Saturday. Ridiculous! This is a major hub!! Here’s the kicker, once you finally get your contract, you them have to wait AGAIN in a line for them to get you a vehicle. Remember this is early morning so you can imagine midday and afternoons. Stay away from Hertz JFK booking. You have been warned! Do not give them your business. There are other car rental companies"
