"April of 2024 I came from Pennsylvania to purchase a 2009 Nissan maxima. The initial transaction was fine, I test drive the car and made the purchase. I was given a temp tag that expired 4/30. I paid the remaining balance 3days before it was due to expire and was told to pick up my title the same day. I sent my spouse because I was in Pennsylvania, my spouse was then was told they didn’t have it. For one it is illegal to sell a vehicle without the title in hand! Red flag number one! I called the following week, asking for the title , the receptionist told me it was due to arrive at 3pm and they would mail it to me. I waited an additional 3 days and still no title. Red flag number 2! Called to find out what was going on only to continue to get voicemail. I had my spouse call and he was able to get through immediately. They told him some story about where the title was located the person quit their job and no titles were mailed out etc etc, not my issue. He offered to give me a loaner car and if the title didn’t come by the ending of this month I would receive a refund,being understanding i accepted the loaner, it took them over 25 minutes to bring the Lexus rx330 from a different lot on a Thursday.Friday I told my spouse the car was weird and didn’t feel right. Saturday while driving back from Pennsylvania on 78 during rain the car completely shut off on me. I could have lost my life. I called the business and personal number with no answers. Monday morning i gave them time to contact me but nothing, I called after 10 am explaining what happened and she said she would call him , puts me on hold, states I would receive a callback in 5 mins. That turned into almost over an hour and no call. By this time I am furious and hurt. My calls stopped being answered from both my phone and spouse. I continue to call nonstop for about 10min until she decided to answer again.i asked for him again or to call him on 3way since she was the only one getting through to him and she stated she couldn’t do that. I went off saying I will be getting the law involved and was on my way. I IMMEDIATELY received a call back from him saying he didn’t know what was going on smh yet calling me from the very number I was calling and texting. He sends a tow truck for the Lexus an hour later. Continue to communicate with me on the very number he said was his personal number that I was being ignored by,. After 2 hrs he calls back saying he can Uber me to the Lexus after it was fixed ( fan belt to the alternator came off) and I can take it back and continue to await the title of my maxima which he himself still didn’t know when or if he would receive it. Didn’t offer any compensation for me having to tow it from 78 highway to Piscataway nj. I declined the offer and told him I would be dropping off the maxima the same day as well and would like a refund. Upon arrival he tried to get me to get another vehicle but the damage was already done. The maxima was 6999. I paid 8174 which made no sense if the paperwork and taxes were only 584. So I was initially over charged. I was treated poorly and no longer trusted them. After receiving the check it was flagged for fraud and the bank stated that the owner of the check had a history of writing checks for funds they didn’t have so it was held an additional week. I didn’t receive my money back until May 14th! Severely inconvenienced and handled poorly."
