"The service here is great: professional, friendly and courteous. They do not have many cars as it is a small place. However, let the Manager Justin know in advance and he will make you you have the right pick. They are very transparent and do not resort to gimmicks or hidden fees. The car I rented needed better cleaning but that was not a major issue. I would rent from them again."
"I picked up the Chevy Malibu on Friday July 5th and drove 11 miles to my house before I planned on heading into Manhattan for 4th of July weekend. I went back to the vehicle and the battery was dead Leaving me with not other option than to Uber to the city. While in the city I contacted the Hertz roadside assistance. I was informed that because I was not next the vehicle they would not be able to pick it up even though the Keys were at the house with a family member. When I arrived back to the vehicle on Saturday night I contacted a friend to give the vehicle a jump start which got the vehicle started and I left the car on to charge the Battery. The next day (Sunday) I tried to turn on the vehicle and return it but the battery yet again was dead. I called Hertz road side assistance and they Finally picked up the Vehicle and while doing so the tow truck driver informed me that this hertz location is full of lemons and he usually has to pick up vehicles because the key fobs don't work half of the time ( He could have been talking about Enterprise because that's where this idiot took the vehicle). a few days later I called Hertz to get a refund and they informed me that they have never received the vehicle and they would not be able to close the contract. After doing my own investigation I discovered that the hertz roadside assistance had delivered the vehicle to Enterprise rentals at 240 airport rd., suite 1 in Westchester. I called this hertz location which is the one that gave me the vehicle to let them know about this error and they the employee told me it was my fault which is ridiculous because I called the roadside assistance provided by Hertz!! So far trying to get refunded has cost me hours of my life and dozens of phone calls with Hertz. I finally received a receipt on the 23rd of July and once again called hertz who informed me that they will only refund half the amount and if I wanted the full refund I need to wait for a supervisor to call me back which would be within 24 hours. It has been 4 days and I have still heard nothing. I am currently on a the phone with Hertz as I am writing this and have been put on hold multiple time. My current phone time as I write this is 52 minutes which is relatively good time compared to the other dozens of phone calls I have made. Best of luck to every other person considering renting a vehicle from here. EDIT: now on the phone for for 1hr and 10 minutes and still listening to this hertz song "Hertz lets go baby baby hertz lets go... only 11 miles""
"Hertz location at upper saddle River are very professional and very accommodating. It was my first time renting a car and they made my experience very easy. They walked me through the whole process and gave me a very reasonable and affordable price. The car was very clean and safe. I truly recommend them. I also must say the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning and giving them my business again."
"Be on the lookout: ***sleek/sleazy way to obtain additional money so they could charge for it & FORCE you to upgrade*** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a reservation that I made online at this location using AAA-managers Special & I am a Glod member as well for the weekend. The Rep was very welcoming at first and said the manager's special for today would be either a Tesla or Toyota 4 Running (mind you they have other small cars and SUVs). I indicated that I had a bad taste for electric cars and told him to hold on while I stepped out and made a call. When I came back, the rep told me that he could offer me a Ford Edge for an additional $40 upgrade fee or get a box truck (moving truck!!!)- Toyota 4 Runner was not presented again when i finished the call- I said Whatttt is this sleek/sleazy way to obtain additional money so they could charge for it? I said you started by offering me a Tesla or 4 Runner ( higher class) and now you saying that the mid-size Edge is an additional charge. I ended up paying the difference as I did not have a lot of time on my hands to look for another rental?????"
