Elaine's Restaurant and Bar

"I brought my girlfriend here for our anniversary. The staff were very kind from the moment we walked in, inquiring and congratulating us on our celebration. For drinks, she enjoyed the popular Lavender-Basil “Spritz” and I had the Dalia Pinot Grigio, which had just the perfect light touch of sweetness I was looking for. In ordering our appetizer and entrées, they were very accommodating to my non-dairy dietary needs. Being born and raised in an Italian family, there were no shortage of authentic and exquisite Italian cuisine here. From the specials to the food listed on the menu, there were so many great options to choose from! We shared the Clams Oreganata which were cooked perfectly and delicious. I usually only have 1 or 2 clams at other places, I wound up having 7 out of the 14 they gave. For our main dishes, she ordered Linguini Carbonara, which she wound up taking home because it was too filling, but I wiped my plate clean of the Pan Roasted Halibut. The menu online says it comes with more fishes (clams and mussels) but the in-restaurant menu listed more vegetables (zucchini) which I enjoyed more! I kept commenting to my girlfriend on the elegant and cozy atmosphere. It’s clear to see after how packed the restaurant was, Elaine’s isn’t moving anytime soon. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back again!"

"I had a wonderful evening at Elaine’s tonight. The owners came over twice to greet us and were very friendly. Our server was exceptional. The carbonara was incredible, with guanciale that melted in your mouth and perfectly complemented the dish. The portion sizes were just right. I will definitely be back. It’s hard to find restaurants this good in setauket."

"Wonderful restaurant. Beautifully designed and the food was equally delicious. Some of our favorites were the meatballs and ricotta, oysters, halibut with the creamiest parsnip purée and the pistachio gelato on brioche for dessert. Our waitress Caroline was fantastic as well, providing great recommendations and service. We will definitely be back soon."

"I’ll start with saying this is a beautifully designed restaurant . With such a small sized space staff should spend more time with each table. It seemed like our server was running around a lot and didn’t deliver a higher end dining experience. Our wine glasses were empty and waited until halfway through dinner to get our refills. As well as being given food without silverware. Sadly the food is very mediocre. My shrimp was chewy, my dish needed salt as my boyfriends dish had way to much of it. The fried zucchini however was delicious! I hope that these are growing pains from a new restaurant. You can get better service and food from other local areas."
