"One of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Comfy seating and great Americana atmosphere with a good variety of beer and cocktails. My bartender Mike was very friendly."
"Mekelburg’s is a cafe, supermarket and in the back there’s a sit down eatery and bar. A few days ago, I ordered a small black coffee and blueberry muffin from the sidewalk window of the cafe. I ate at one of the many sidewalk tables with chairs while waiting for someone. The cafe meal was nothing special coffee-wise although the muffin was chock full of real blueberries—at $9 it was on par with a Starbucks order. Today I tried out the sit down eatery in the back and that’s what this review is primarily for. I ordered the double smash patty Butter Burger ($12) and large order of fries ($8) with small side of pickled onions (free). The burger was delicious. The fries were almost like old school Mickey D’s, perfectly salted and good enough to eat without any condiment added. A complimentary carafe of water with lime & lemon wedge was provided, so no need to order a beverage. My meal and kind server get top scores. My four stars is actually closer to 4 and a half stars. After my meal, a small fly began to annoy me and that’s why I reduced atmosphere score. Note: This is a high traffic area, lots of door opening, and it’s summer, so it would be impossible to stop every flying insect from finding a way in. With that said, let me be clear, it was just one super small fly that pestered me. By no means was it to the level of being a sanitary concern. My meal cost me more than what I’d pay at Shake Shack, but also tasted better. (I’m not to happy about the.65 cents charge for a “non cash transaction.”) If I’m ever in the Brooklyn area again (by the old Domino Sugar Factory), I’ll definitely eat at Mekelburg’s again."
"Wonderful 1st experience food was amazing portions are great the long Island rose freezie was amazing I'm still drunk lol, it's also very chill and clean I can't wait to return"
"Tried the Jumbo Wings with Buffalo and Barbeque, and both were great. Huge fries portions and friendly staff = 5 stars. Their menu was all over the place, but it kind of made me want to come back for more crazy dishes!"
"Our server Tess was amazingly friendly and very helpful in making awesome meal and drink choices. You have to order their outstanding wings!!!"
