"Very pleased. Nice place, loved the food. Friendly. Good portions. No liquor yet - don't care!"
"We have eaten at Tepeztate dozens of times since it opened a few months ago. What a delight to have a good taco place on west 30th Avenue. The food is always fresh and delicious. Our go to dishes are the tacos, in all their varieties, as well as the carne asada platter, which often comes with so many side dishes we have food to take home. We also love the aguachiles with the black sauce (when available) with a spice level I’ve only felt on the beach in Oaxaca. The owner is constantly experimenting with food from all over Mexico, with some highlights from Nayarit, Oaxaca, and Yucatán. There are often specials on the weekends, and brunch is also delicious. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The owner is particularly friendly and he is one of those restaurant owners you want to keep in the neighborhood because he’s a good neighbor who has created a spot the community can gather in."
"The service was outstanding. Our server was a gentlemen & was incredibly accommodating of our particular requests (not-spicy for my friend, vegetarian for me). The food was delicious & made fresh. We got large enough portions that we each have another full-size meal to enjoy tomorrow. The background music was just the right volume, too, so we were comfortable sitting and talking over our meal. Also, I normally don't like flan, but the coffee flan was exquisite. Would definitely recommend!"
"My wife and I have eaten here at least 10 times since it opened, trying new things each time. We loved everything but the tacos are especially amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. This is my go-to Mexican spot forever now."
"New Mexican restaurant that offers a wide range of options that fall outside the “standard taco spot.” I was very happy with the specialty tacos and would come back to try out the rest of the menu. If the food quality remains the same I cannot see how this restaurant doesn’t become an Astoria favorite for the locals looking for authentic Mexican cuisine."
