Gap Factory 1770 West Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901

"A family member tried to return items at the location that she purchased 2 days prior. The employee refused to return items, telling her the items smelled! It was Christmas Eve and the store was busy, with a long line. It was completely mortifying for the family member! The items were unworn, purchased 2 days prior and were sitting in the car! Not quite sure where they got off stating they smelled! The employee then started adding insult to injury, asking her 4-5 times if she “maybe washed them.” The tags were still on! The manager got involved and also refused return. We do not have the name of employees however it was 2:30 on Christmas Eve. This entire experience is insulting, inappropriate, and uncalled for. Family member went to another location and return WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. I’m not quite sure if this had anything to do with my family members ethnicity, which is Asian. Either way, it’s appalling."

"I had a great salesperson working with me. It was the end of Black Friday weekend on Sunday, and I arrived at the GAP factory outlet in Riverhead NY late. A nice woman on the register took time to answer my questions and wait until I finished in the fitting room. It was well past closing time when I was ready to complete my purchase. Many items were gone, but I ended up with clothing that satisfied me. Thanks to that female salesperson."

"today I went shopping in this store. one of the short purple hair employees there asks if you are looking for a pants size? and I answered yes I am looking for size 4. without help at all. She just spoke quietly as if I did not hear what she said. She thought I was going to steal things in that shop. I feel she is very racist. and she made me uncomfortable to shop there. I am very disappointed and will never return to that store again."
