Welcome to The Owego Kitchen, a charming café nestled in the heart of historic Owego, New York, at 13 Lake Street. Since opening our doors on November 11, 2015, we, Ike and Julie Lovelass, have been dedicated to serving our community with delightful homemade dishes crafted with a fresh, contemporary twist. Our menu is a celebration of flavors, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options, along with coffee and sweets that are sure to satisfy every palate.

Start your day with our breakfast offerings, served until 11:00 am, featuring a selection of freshly baked bagels and unique sandwiches like our iconic bacon and egg combinations, drizzled with maple syrup. For lunch, indulge in our iconic sandwiches, savory soups, and fresh salads, all prepared with the finest ingredients and plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Our homemade dressings and spreads, such as our Walnut-Pesto Vinaigrette and Horseradish Cream Sauce, add an extra layer of flavor to every dish.

Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, our casual café provides the perfect setting. Enjoy our cozy atmosphere, rich with history dating back to 1873, as you savor our delicious offerings. Our building has a storied past, having housed various businesses from saloons to shoe stores, and now proudly stands as The Owego Kitchen.

"I love this place. They are not open for dinner, so sometimes I plan ahead and pick up food to go. The maple melt is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever. The baked goods, such as muffins and cookies, are delicious. I've also had their yogurt parfaits and overnight oats, which are amazing (but they don't always have them). The staff and owner are courteous and efficient. They're always posting specials online that look amazing. They also carry a nice variety of beverages. My friends and family love their iced coffees (I don't drink coffee). For vegans, the hummus wrap is really good."

"You really couldn't ask for a better spot. Their food and service is consistently incredible! I'm a fan of their breakfast here because you get access to their unlimited coffee bar (with the BEST coffee) and there are so many tasty sandwiches to choose from (when their breakfast burrito is their special of the day, make sure you get one!).
