"I love this man!! Dr. El-Kadi came in for my first visit and said this is what we’re going to do. I had pain, numbness and tingling in my right arm that was steady and never went away. The day of surgery went well. I woke up with the majority of my symptoms gone. What I have left will take time to heal. I feel like a whole new person. The Doctor is a man of few words but is the best in his field. His staff of Pa’s and Nurses are amazing as well. I have not had a negative experience with any of them. They are very knowledgeable and will listen to any questions, comments or concerns that you may have. Eventually I’ll have to have surgery on my lumbar. This one was cervical. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. The whole office and the Nurses on the floor postoperative are all wonderful."

"I had neck pain accompanied by tingling and numbness down both arms for a few weeks that had suddenly affected me. It was not a gradual progression, perhaps due in part to my Ehler’s Danlos. I first visited Dr. El-Kadi in the summer of 2018. After first seeing a Johnstown neurosurgeon who recommended immediate surgery, I opted to see Dr. El-Kadi for a second opinion. He recommended that I try shots in my neck after his recommended PT was ineffective. The shots too were ineffective, but he did not give up!! He then prescribed a TENS unit that I used faithfully. It was quite a blessing, as I managed to get another two years of moderate relief before it was finally time to consider surgery. The doctor was caring and respectful at every appointment. I despise a physician who talks down to me, is dismissive, or rushes me. Dr. El-Kadi was none of those things! In October of 2022 the doctor performed a C5-C7 anterior cervical discectomy with fusion and dural defect repair at Passavant Hospital. I woke with no pain my neck and only discomfort in my throat from the incision. Unfortunately, I developed a leak in my spinal fluid due to a bone spur that had torn my membrane in the spinal column. This required me to remain in the hospital for 15 days. Although I was scared, Dr. El-Kadi and his team were phenomenal in the care they provided me. He personally came to check on me regularly and provided me great comfort. He was informative, respectful, and always gave me his undivided attention. I was comforted in knowing that I was in excellent hands! The nursing staff at the hospital was fantastic as well! I wouldn’t go anywhere else and would strongly recommend Dr.El-Kadi for any spinal needs."

"I cannot thank Dr. El-Kadi, his staff and the staff at UPMC Passavent enough. I was really apprehensive about having spinal surgery, thanks to Dr El-Kadi and everyone else, my slexperience was great. The symptoms I was having were gone immediately after I was awake, I have had minimal pain or discomfort from the procedure. They advised me to do physical therapy prior to the surgery to help with recovery, this was very good advice. "I decided install a stone paver patio and fire pit this summer. I am a 71 year old male, I thought in good physical strength. A month later I started experiencing lumbar pain with leg/foot numbness and tingling. I went to my PCP and they ordered X-rays and Meds. Along with this Dr. wanted me to try Physical Therapy.( I did mine at Penn Ohio PT). While doing therapy I did see improvement. I then met Dr Matt El-Kadi UPMC. An MRI was ordered and showed L4-5 disc herniation. Dr El-Kadi reviewed and prescribed meds to improve discomfort and continue PT. He also set up and an appointment with UPMC Pain Management. I had a Epidural Injection (Dr Andy Nassif). The same day I felt all my pain and numbness completely disappear. I am now three weeks out and have met with Dr El-Kadi and told him how satisfied I am with his path of my recovery and reducing my pain. I did not want to have surgery and they have given me a path to not have surgery and back to exercising and no pain or discomfort. Dr. El-Kadi is a wonderful caring physician and did not rush me into surgery. I am 100% satisfied with the path we chose. His staff is exceptional and his care is as well exceptional.
