Avets

"I've attempted to call Avets for help for my sick pets on 3 occasions. I have rodents (so, exotic pets) and have been told by many other vet clinics that Avets sees exotics. I seem to have the absolute worst possible luck, because the exotic vet is never available when I've called. But my actual complaint is the 100% lack of compassion from staff I've spoken with on the phone. I've only ever been treated as a nuisance. Most recently, I had a rat having an emergency. I left a message (which is fine, I don't expect everyone to be available all the time). Unfortunately, my rat passed away that afternoon (not Avets fault, as they never saw her). Today, I received a call back. When I informed them that my rat had died, the woman sounded annoyed with me, did not say "I'm sorry to hear that" or anything like it, and just wanted to get off the phone. I'm leaving this review because that has been the tone every time I have called them. A complete lack of compassion that has left me feeling worse and wishing I hadn't picked up the call. Every single other vet clinic I've taken my rodents to has been kind and caring, this is not normal."

"All of the staff were very kind and caring. They took great care of our pug puppy. You do wait for awhile but it is an ER so the most serious cases have to be seen first which is understandable. The frustrating part was waiting over an hour to be discharged. Just had to get the medication and pay the bill so it doesn't make sense to make people wait to be discharged. This was no fault of the employee at the desk. She was the only one and was very busy. I say to the company you need to provide at least two people at the front. There's no way one person can take all of the intakes, answer the phone and do discharges. As a company, you owe it to your staff to provide this help. We were very patient but I could see where this would cause family to get very irritated and angry with the staff even though they are trying there best. By the time I finish this review, it will probably be another hour as the girl doing our discharge just got bumped from her computer for an employee to help someone else. I do sincerely hope we never have to come back here just due to waiting for discharge!!! I appreciate the care that we received and thank the staff for the great treatment."

"Had to take my 10 year old girl to be put down after weeks of not eating and a general descent into nothingness. After a long day, I finally decided it needed to be done after her final bout of projectile vomitting. Arrived at 11:30, in the room by 12:00PM. They were incredibly quick to take my money before I could even sit down, but took many hours to actually do anything. My poor girl sat on a cold floor for hours, scared, in pain and by the end was actually scared of me. I wanted to put an end to her suffering but instead I made her final moments hell. I just wish they showed more compassion, I was the only person in the waiting room, and she had been prepped and ready to go by the vet tech after 15 or so minutes. Come to find out, they never told me I was supposed to call them when I was ready. Just a horrible horrible experience and I wish I never went there. Thankful for the vet, she was the only redeeming part of this experience. I wish I had my Mochi back."

"We brought our Ivy in after a very quick decline and did have to put her to sleep. All the staff who helped us were beyond kind and compassionate. The last moments we got to spend with her mean everything to us. I’m grateful we got to be with her at the end. The keepsakes we got will be treasured forever. Thank you all for being so good with our stinky girl."

"Extremely caring, supportive, and kindhearted people. We had to make a decision to put our beloved cat down. It was a very emotional, hard decision to make and they helped us through the whole process. I would highly recommend Avets. Photos of our Vinnie"
