"I was very unhappy with the outcome of my crochet braids. First, it took almost 4 hours; I've been getting crochets for years and it has never taken so long. The braid down was way too tight and very bulky in the back. In the front, the size of the cornrows were too small for the size of the twists being put in, so the twists weighed the braids down and were pulling my hair out. After a week, twists started falling out randomly and I noticed the the braids underneath the crochets had already begun loosening up. It's been two weeks and I need to take this style out already. Everyone in the shop was very nice but I was disappointed with the outcome and don't feel the result was worth the money or time."

"Unprofessional. If i could give zero stars, I would. I never give bad reviews but this needs to be said. I communicated with Menzie to braid my hair because she was referred to me by my cousin. I liked her braids and was told she had a soft touch, which was important because i dont like my hair braided too tight. I spoke to her, told her i wanted knotless braids, scheduled the appointment with her and texted her the same info with a picture. She never responded. I called her again and communicated what i wanted and verified the day and time. The day before I called to make sure we were a go. She asked if i could change my time to 1:30 instead of 9am and i told her that did not work for me. She said no worries, 9am is fine. I asked if she was sure. She said yes. I drove 4 hours from ohio to Pittsburgh to her shop. When I arrived to my appointment menzie said she could not do my hair and tried to pawn me off on to another braider. I reiterated that I booked with her, not another braider. I refused. I feel like this was a bait and switch. She never intended to do my hair but instead she thought I would just agree to let anyone do my hair since I was already there and had driven 4 hours to get there. Very inconsiderate, rude and highly unprofessional. People (professionals as well) treat you the way you let them. Never let a person treat you unprofessional, then spend your money with them. I would never use or recommend this place."

"The ONLY good thing I can say about my service is the size of plaits were good! Once I got home I notice how uneven my plaits were which made the ends very thin looking and some weren’t even braiding to the end. I tried reaching out the day after my appointment about the poor quality and got no response. 3 of my plaits in the back came out within 4 days (just slid right out). My appointment was at 9:00am and I didn’t get started until 10:00 (with me being the ONLY client of the day). The owner started my hair then to not only stop but to wash and get her own hair braided by another stylist/helper (I was in shock)….its been 2 weeks and my hair look a month old… NEVER AGAIN!"

"This place deserves 0 stars.But I had to choose 1 star, that’s the only way I could do a review. So here we are, this by far is the worst African braiding salon ever!! I dropped my son off there for a locs retwist on Saturday Sept 2 before Labor Day this weekend. He had to be back up on college campus by Monday night & , I wanted him to look fresh going back. So I dropped him off at their shop and went to work. When he left the shop I never seen his hair because I was at work until 9 pm Saturday night. Now I never used them for my son, but his stylist was out of town and would not arrive back until Monday night. That wouldn’t have worked, so I chose them and it looked like they did absolutely nothing to his head. He looked the same way he did when he went there. Now I paid $80 up front plus a $10 tip. I immediately reached out to his actual stylist that night and sent him pics of their work.. He couldn’t believe it. He was mad for me. He ended up being back sooner than expected and opened his shop on Labor Day just for my son. I’ll forever be grateful. He’s amazing and very talented. The 1st pic shows what my son looked like after he left their chair. The second pic shows his professional stylists work after he left his chair, and what my sons hair should’ve looked like. Of course the owner isn’t responding to calls or text messages. No apologies, no trying to rectify the situation, no refunds.. just pure silence and avoidance..STAY CLEAR.. BE AWARE they’ll scam you out of your money just to make their money, or make you believe you’re at fault. GOD don’t like ugly. I pray their business will no longer prosper, I pray the wrath of GOD reigns down on them and their business starts to fold.I declare that GOD some how stops their money flow. I’ll put this in GODS hands now!!"

"I've had my hair braided, twisted and crocheted several times at their new location. I've had excellent results every time. Prices are reasonable. They do not work Sundays. I like that they always Call the day before my appointment to remind me and to confirm that I am still coming."
