"Nothing but professional services with knowledgeable people. Dan Reed with all his years in this business and his expertise nailed the price of the house I needed to sell and helped me with all my repairs so the house got sold in a few months. I would definitely use him again if I need real estate sold or purchased in the Pittsburgh area."
"I had a very bad experience with a listing agent from this office on a home that my fiance and I fell in love with. Our original offer was countered by the seller, which we accepted. We had an oral agreement and were told that the home was ours. The agent said that she would have her client sign the contract that evening. The next morning, we were told another offer was put on the house at 10:30pm the night before, which they accepted. What happened to our contract? We were told the house was ours. The other offer should have never been considered or presented to the seller. Although not illegal, this was very unethical. I would not recommend using this realtor/office as they are not trustworthy or professional."
"Renters be aware if you are going to rent a place managed by realtors from Berkshire Hathaway. A realtor from this company was hired to manage the townhouse we were renting before we moved out. He tried to charge us hundreds of dollars for damages that were there before we moved in, and $700 for carpet cleaning, saying there was pet smell. The carpet was very old and already smelled before we moved in. Tenants before us lived there for five years with two cats. The realtor blamed all that to us and was very rude and just ignored whatever we said. Unfortunately, there weren’t much we can do since we do not the time and they have our security deposit. We managed to have him take the fee for damages off the bill, but not the carpet cleaning. It’s kinda funny that you need to spend time and energy to get your own money back. Otherwise they just took it."
"This review is tied to the main broker at this office, so this appeared to be the most appropriate place to post. Donnie Marchione was the representative for the sellers for the home we purchased, and based on how the transaction proceeded, I would advise anyone working with him that he and Northwood are dangerous to work with and have questionable ethics. Based on information gathered from neighbors and previous sales, Don falls short and violated the National Association of Realtors Code of Ethics on several counts and these actions have cost us significant amounts of money 1) He neglected to tell us that the house was in foreclosure until we came to the house two weeks before closing, when it was too soon to cancel the move. We were told by neighbors that he was close friends with the sellers of the home we purchased, and that he should have known this 2) He created and attempted to hold us to contracts which we had not signed to keep various items in the house. Based on other reviews, this is not the first time he has done this 3) The weight of evidence suggests that he allowed blatantly false information to be included on the disclosures provided by sellers regarding the condition of the home 4) He reneged on an agreement to split some of his commission to deal with a house issue 5) He and his office's broker failed to cooperate (or respond) with our agent when we reached out to see if we could reach an amicable resolution Donnie and Northwood's actions are to real estate as Gordon Gekko is to Wall Street. I advise nobody work with him or any agency which he is allowed to represent."
"avoid at all costs, I have purchased multiple homes previously and this agent was by far the worst in terms of experience. lack of communication, deceptive practices, zero help in negotiating with seller. i mean whats the point of using a agent if it makes your life more difficult in buying a house. might as well do without one."
