CCA-Division of Taxation

"I submitted my taxes on time. However, they sent me a letter in the mail regarding my tax return, which I replied to via mail. Because, I responded to their letter, they somehow took my response as my filing date, thus now I'm owing $150 in city taxes. This is totally ridiculous, obtuse and unethical. Is this normal practice/procedure of the CCA-Division of Taxation? If it's not the money hungry State of Ohio, I see now the City of Cleveland is no different. I'm regretting that I relocated here."

"This place ghetto. No one wants to come get you. U could be waiting for 2 hours and everyone hoping someone else get you while they on the loud speaker saying they are needed 2023.This year 2024 things moved pretty fast and was lot better. And I received the help i needed."

"Your employees are rude and also, don’t penalize us if we don’t know we have to file these separately. I know many people that don’t know about this. Your employees act like we know about this and say, "take classes" yet, are you going to pay for those classes? Where are these classes? If my employer didn't withhold enough taxes, why am I being penalized? Especially if I didn't know about it. Ask them for the money since they can actually afford it. We are never notified about these taxes until it's too late and there's penalties on it. Once again, for not knowing about this, stop penalizing us. Notify us earlier if we owe something instead of the penalties adding up and THEN notifying us."

"It is absolutely ridiculous they take months to process your refund. RITA and the IRS doesn’t take this long. I would rather pay RITA than CCA. I have to deal with this every year, they need a better system!!"

"I wish 0 stars was an option because Cleveland CCA is a complete and utter scam. I have paid my taxes on time and now they decide to tell me I have a late fee from two years ago, which again, is not true but is "non-disputable". I have tried for months getting in contact with them but always get hung up on when I call saying that there are no operators available. Also, on the notice it says that the late fee starts out at $25 and maxes out at $150, but the CCA won't notify you of a late fee until that fee has maxed out. The CCA is an absolute disgrace to the city of Cleveland."
