"We were visiting my oldest son in Lawrence today. I drove my daughter to the post office at 4:35. The branch closes at 4:45. My daughter wanted to mail packages back to the Air Force base where she lives in Germany before they leave early tomorrow. The person at the post office refused to help us. He didn’t even get up from where he was sitting to come to the counter. All we wanted to know was whether it would be cheaper to send in the several small boxes we had packed or in one large box. He said, "We close in 4 minutes." Ten minutes is not 4 minutes and it would have taken all of ONE minute for him to weigh the items and give us an idea of the cost and if one larger box would be cheaper to ship them home. He finally stood up when my daughter asked for the form to fill out for customs. Ironically, on the drive to the post office, I had told my family I've had nothing but help from the postal employees in Dormont and Castle Shannon, especially when I’m sending things to a military member."
"My fiancé and I moved to Lawrence 2 years ago. We have always hated going to post offices, but not this one. They are welcoming and kind to their customers."
"Always have a good experience there. I just moved here 6 months ago and never had a PO box before and it's been a learning curve for me. But that's also why it's a 4 stars for me. I think we should have mailboxes. It's a bit outdated to just have PO boxes. No one has time to check a PO everyday"
"I am fed up with the post master. He's rude, conformational, and just down right nasty. I tried calling to report him, but the wait time is always 45 minutes to an hour. If he's unhappy with his job he should retire. Worst person I have to deal with."
"Lawrence post office used to be full of smiling pleasant people, but as of late the postmaster is extremely rude and It gets harder and harder to get your mail. Even though we live in a tiny town and we have always been able to have our mail delivered to our PO Box using our street address; this is no longer the case, in fact, he will even send your mail back now if it has the correct PO Box, St. address, and ZIP. I’m not sure if he is doing this as a personal attack? Or if he just can’t read the PO boxes that are clearly labeled on the packages. I will be calling his superiors."
