"I took my 84 year old mother to this physician... He was awful, dismissive, obnoxious and totally disrespectful. He never spoke on her X-rays or pain. He just kept focusing on my mother using her oxycodone and addiction. !! I stopped him right there and said look at my mother crying and in pain ! She just started vthe oxycodone has sciatica nerve pain radiating down her side.. what are her other options? Injection? PT? This moron proceeds to tell me he didn't have a magic wand! Well if he did I would have made him disappear to the land of Not Caring.. because thats exactly what he portrayed... NOT CARING as we were rushed out! The physician he sent in to see my mom prior to Dr. Sauber, was phenomenal , patient and had a listening ear. Too bad he was not the one we were to see. I WILL NEVER TAKE HER BACK TO HIM!!!!"
"Went to see Dr. Sauber last May for hip pain. Felt rushed and dismissed but was sent for MRI. MRI results showed subchondral fracture and was put non weight bearing for 10 weeeks. Could *possibly* be avasvular necrosis. Came off non weight bearing and told to follow up in 6 months. Was still in pain. Had repeat MRI with no change but was told they couldn’t do a hip replacement on me because I was Too young and it was NOT avasvular necrosis. Got a second opinion with non AHN surgeon and he confirmed it was AVN and scheduled hip replacement surgery immediately. Dr. Sauber has the worst bedside manner if you even get to speak with him because most of the time you deal with the PA. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR YOUNG PATIENTS."
"Went to see Dr Timothy sauber on April 10th I had a very nice visit he is very nice caring and he was up front about my up coming hip surgery he told me what he's go to do and what I can expect after the surgery I would go back to see him again thank you for your help and hopefully I can get better so I can start walking better"
"Had revision surgery with Dr Sauber, right hip immediately was unstable and made him aware. Concerns dismissed with” if it dislocates will cross that bridge. 5 mo later had left hip revision that resulted in “ Chronic bursitis “. Pain with every step. Told angle of cup rubbing on a tendon. Sent to pain management. Dismissed by him and even worse the Physician Assistant. Was difficult getting in to see MD . Had to be insistent about complications. Two months later, right hip dislocation. Required opening hip again. Did not heal and was in pain all the time post op. Kept reporting my concerns. Dismissed by Dr Sauber and his Physician Assistant. Got second opinion and determined infection. Unfortunately that surgeon could not assist with surgery and was sent back to AGH where by default was yet again operated unexpectedly by Timothy Sauber. That resulted in another infection and required another surgery to put second spacer in. Refused and got resistance from office staff about refusing Dr Sauber for additional surgery. Second spacer placed, another 6 weeks of antibiotics, picc line and long term effects that can’t be reversed all because of Dr Sauber’s lackadaisical approach. Now, am dealing with getting the spacer removed on right hip which makes the 6 th hip surgery. Then will face the left hip that needs revised that he did. No words can express how disappointed I am with Dr Timothy Sauber’s lack of skill, follow up and sincere interest in what his actions has caused. I have been forced to quit working a rewarding career and have a good possibility of more complications with the next 2 surgeries I must have. Nice person, questionable concerns for detail and skill. Physician Assistants are imperative in the healthcare arena, however they must know when to refer postop complications to the appropriate resources. Friends and family all suggest suing Dr Timothy Sauber. I am not looking to be rewarded for this medical negligence. What I do want to do is share my experience and stress how important it is to research and be persistent with your health care. Not all doctors have the skill level to meet your individual needs. In my case, Dr Sauber took no responsibility for his plan of care."
"Today, I received total hip replacement from Dr. Sauber at Allegheny General. Arrived 5:40a. Was prepped for 8:00 surgery as scheduled. They allot 2 hrs for surgery. Done in 70 minutes. Two hours later, walking with no pain along with three PT therapist. Released at 1:20p. I could have walked (Un-assisted) to the car, it was that good but, policy requires a ride in wheel chair. 5 stars for Debbie Ziegler, case navigator…..she was most excellent, thank you. Totally excellent experience with all attendants!"
