Guthrie Walk-In Care - Big Flats

"I will never go back. This was my first time going to the Guthrie walk-in clinic. My toddler was sent to a walk-in clinic based on his on-call pediatricians recommendations for a rash developing around his eyes. We saw the nurse in the examining room and waited for close to an hour for the doctor to come in to not even look at my son. She said there was nothing that they can do and sent us home without any discharge paperwork. She didn’t put them on the examining table. She didn’t look at the rash developing around his eye. Nothing. The room was also very dirty."

"Had a short wait of about 15 minutes. The staff from receptionist to X-Ray were very accommodating and ended up with 2 referrals. The reason for 4 stars was they need to work on cleanliness of the exam rooms !"

"I have a hernia, the surgeon said I don't. All doctors I have seen in the past said its a hernia. Its starting to hurt. He said there's nothing he could do. I told him I going to get a second opinion. He said ok but don't get surgery I dont need it. Where does he get off telling me that when Im getting second opinion. I will never use Guthrie again. I have had multiple problems with Guthrie before. One time I couldn't walk. They just he my laying in bed for 3 months doing nothing. Finally I went to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse they did MRI on me. I had three disks out of line in my neck. They operate I was only there two weeks. Compare three months in Guthrie. I will never use Guthrie again."

"Zero stars if possible. Walked into this clinic 40 minutes before they closed with maybe 6 people sitting in the waiting room. I was promptly told the wait could be 1.5 hours “but we close in 30 minutes” before even getting a hello. I was having chest pain (i know you normally go to a hospital but i wasn’t sure it was severe enough for that) just really looking for an ekg which I told the secretary who immediately followed with “are you sure you’re not just having anxiety” completely dismissing my symptoms. She then stated that she’s not a medical professional (as if she didn’t make that clear enough already). I then got the appropriate work up elsewhere."

"I had a very uncomfortable/sad experience at this office yesterday. I had scheduled an appointment online with my primary care provided because of health concerns I was having since Christmas. I was a few minutes late and of course, check-in takes a couple more minutes and then check-in with the nurse another five...only to have my primary care provider sit down and tell me that I only had 3 minutes left for my appointment and that she didn't have the time to discuss all of my concerns...what? It was not conveyed during scheduling or after that the appointment would only be 15 minutes. If there is some kind of expectation, patients need to be informed prior to the appointment. My blood pressure was elevated. Gee, I wonder why. My healthcare provider didn't have time for me, which made me feel like I didn't matter. Clearly, I was not a priority. Also, I left the office with no answers, or idea of a game plan...something that could have been easily remedied by just a two-minute conversation, but she didn't have time or didn't take the time. We ruled out any serious issues...(I think??) Oh, and after this 3 minute appointment...my insurance was billed close to $300 for this appointment. (I'm shaking my head over here.) If this is how Guthrie is starting to treat their patients...or if it is just this office... I just want others to be aware. No one would have been happy with the visit I had yesterday. Suffice to say, I will not be back."
