From citywide events and neighborhood festivals to everyday recreational pursuits, Magee Recreation Center provides an ideal setting for both relaxation and active living. Whether you prefer a leisurely walk through the nearby park or a challenging run through the streets, Magee Recreation Center has something for everyone. Our facilities are open seven days a week, ensuring that you always have access to a place where you can unwind, play, and connect with your community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our sponsors and partners who make this impressive array of events and programs possible. We are proud to be part of a collaborative effort involving the Department of Public Works and CitiParks, which collectively maintain nearly 3,800 acres of parkland across 163 parks in Pittsburgh.
Our efforts are further supported by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD), which invests in Allegheny County's quality of life through financial support for libraries, parks, trails, arts and cultural organizations, regional attractions, sports and civic facilities, and public transit. RAD's contributions have been instrumental in ensuring that our regional parks remain safe and vibrant spaces for community gathering, exploration, and inspiration.
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, a non-profit organization founded in December 1996, also plays a crucial role in our mission. Working closely with the City of Pittsburgh, the Conservancy has raised over $130 million and completed more than 22 major park improvement projects, while also engaging thousands of volunteers and providing programming for over 7,500 children annually.
For more information about our partners and ongoing projects, visit the RAD website at [RAD Works Here](https://www.radworkshere.org/) and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy website at [Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy](https://pittsburghparks.org/).
Magee Recreation Center is more than just a recreational facility; it's a cornerstone of the community where people come together to enjoy the best of what Pittsburgh has to offer. Join us and experience the joy of community, recreation, and natural beauty right in your neighborhood!

Reviews of Magee Recreation Center
"Magee Rec is a gem in our town. Everything from the activities to the genuinely caring director Erica and crew is a gift to the kids who attend there. I love that the kids have a place to spend time with each other, have fun, learn, play sports, and, most importantly, a safe place. I know this place will be a staple of a memory for our children to share stories with their own in the future."
"I grew up here if it wasn't for these young kids that make a mess and I will keep it nice. That place is awesome inside and out. Maybe the city workers should pick it up a little too busy over Homewood and the Hill district"
"I've only played on the outdoor basketball courts, it gets dirty and lots of liter plus the nets have holes but it's a nice place you can always find people to play with single rim (breakaway rim) 2 full courts also a nice place just to hang out"
"This is my favorite spot to work out. $5 a month for the weight room, which is never really crowded. The basketball court is usually booked, but if it happens to be open, they allow members to pop in and play a few games until the next reservation is there. It's everything you could need in a gym, and I'm proud to support the city parks."
"The new guest check in system is annoying, but they are all working hard to learn it and make it painless. The gym is nice and clean. The restrooms could use a little remodeling as some fixtures don't really work, but all in all the employees are nice and the facility is functional."
