Reviews of 21st Street Lofts
"Do not move here unless you want to pay for frustration. Here’s some bullet points listing the main things that are wrong with this location. - no management in the building ever unless they are doing a showing, they don’t answer the phone either - Sewage water has been pouring out of the drains in the garage for almost a month now, they refuse to address that and it smells like crap, you can barely breathe. (And it’s $250/mo) + this has been reported to OSHA. - Package room has been ransacked, the cameras in the building are purely decoration so anyone can steal whatever they want. Someone opened every single package in the room and took whatever they found valuable. - Maintenance takes forever as they only employ one person to run maintenance on all three properties. - They raise rent every year but decrease the effort they put in to the building. - The only amenity, the work out room, has two TVs that are both broken, a weight scale that is broken, and one of two treadmills that is broken. They are trying to get people in and out they do not have any regard for their residents and their quality of life in this building. The owner replying to bad reviews is comical, he could not be less concerned about his residents."
"Inexpensive place to live for where it is located, nice high ceilings, and storage units are useful. However, maintenance takes forever, the mailroom is very insecure as packages get stolen often, and the butterfly MX door fob machine often malfunctions which makes it hard to enter the building. The only apartment complex I have seen to have blood, poop, and piss on the floor somewhere in the common areas."
"I don’t even leave reviews normally but I had to. I’ve been living here for going on 3 years and ever since new management took over this place is terrible. The carpets are filthy and the hallways smell. Instead of getting the carpets cleaned they put air fresheners everywhere. AC hasn’t been on all summer and it seems they only clean once a week. They have constant people in and out for Airbnb and showings to dirty elevators and hallways. When Jack managed this place you can smell when they cleaned up here and it was more frequent as well. What really pushed me to write this is I was one day late on rent due to me losing my card, someone in the building stole my replacement one, and instead of emailing or texting me asking they hand me an eviction warning lmao. I know how the law works and that’s not it. Can’t wait to move out of this place. Find better management"
"I lived here at 21st Street lofts for 7 months. It was a roller coaster riding experience, and this is going to be the longest review I have ever written. I’m sure you can tell all the nice things for yourself, the location, how recently renovated everything is, ect… So I’ll go straight into what I want everyone to be aware of. First thing that broke was my dishwasher, I came home after work one day and it leaked dirty/soapy water all over the floor. My rugs were soaking wet. It’s has only been a month and I barely ever used the dish washer. Second thing was my bathtub faucet. At first it was hard to change the water temperature. With in 3 days it was impossible to turn on the water at all. I put in a work order. Management came in the next day to try to fix it, but it broke again the next week, because they didn’t actually give me a new faucet, they only tried to patch the old one and that didn’t work. Third it was my internet. It took phone calls after phone calls and leaving multiple messages, I was finally able to reach IT number about 2 weeks later and get that resolved. Everything just felt so cheaply made. The elevators had endless issues. I walked in to a neighbor locked out side the main entrance because the door handle broke off. It was impossible to pull open the door from the outside. She had to wait for someone from inside to leave and pushed out the door out for her. There were also many many times I went into the elevator with dog pee on the floor. Now you might think that all these are minor, at the end of September, my ceiling started leaking!! I put in a work order right away and nothing was done about it. A week later it spread out and leaked over 3 places!! I could not have guests over because it’s literally raining in my house! I put in another work order. I called and called. No one ever answered the maintenance phone number. No one ever got back to me. I went to the office and the door were always closed. I finally emailed Josh (the leasing manager) and he was the only person that helped me with this matter. It literally took a month for them to stop the leaking. The ceiling by then looked horrid. I asked if it was possible to be repainted, but they refused. I also know for a fact that the leaking did not only happened to me. It also happened to other units and this is unacceptable, not only what happened, also the way managers handled it. The main thing I felt was unacceptable was the management. I stupidly locked myself out once. I called the (supposedly 24/7) maintenance number and no one picked up. I called our leasing manager Elizabeth and she was obviously very upset about having to come open the door for me. She yelled at me on the phone and hanged up on me. And ever since then she had a negative attitude toward me and I felt like it was impossible to approach her to get any help. It took me months to ask for a second key fob. I also was asked to pay $50 in cash for lock-out charge, and upon reading my leasing contract before I moved out, I realized I was supposed to pay only $30 add on to my monthly rent, not in cash."
