"This is the 4th manager in a year. They won't call you back. They do not take care of maintenance. They are rude and don't go to a universal property unless you want a headache. Most of the residents hate corporate office. Think twice about moving under universal."

"I’ve rented places all over and in different states from other rental properties. I’ve also had 2 go arounds with UD. Each for two years each time and have even got people to live there. But that won’t happen again. Neither me living there or referring people. They are very greedy and uncaring. On rare occasions I’d ask them to donate to my sons football program as an advertiser or be a sponsor. I’m talking less than $20 if that. I’d give them the forms and follow up and it was always no. Despite me being a great client and helping them fill units. Also, unfortunately I was downsized and diagnosed with cancer. I wrote a letter asking them to forgive any of the 4 months I had left on my lease and discussed my hardship. That also was a resounding no and still had to pay the rent even though I wasn’t there. In addition, the manager did a walk through before I left. She told me not to worry about a bulb that was burnt out. She also told me everything looked fine and no worries or mention any concerns. Naturally I get my deposit check back minus a significant amount. I stopped into inquire about all of the charges. And since I was out of work, I could have taken care a lot of the things ahead of time at a fraction of the cost. For example, they charged me for a double carpet cleaning even though she said there were no stains. We also didn’t have pets and we never wore our shoes inside. I also was charged for the bulb and cleaning the refrigerator despite me cleaning it before I left. Once again had that been mentioned I would have redone it. (By the way, even if you do it or pay for someone to do it, they still can charge you cause it wasn’t done by them.). Lastly, I was only there 4 days in the month I moved out. But yet was charged MORE for my water bill than ANY of the months I lived there. Naturally I complained and naturally they said too bad. I’m just sorry there’s no real competition for them. Bottom line is stay away and rent elsewhere unless you want to be taken."
"Run away as fast as you can. My heat was broke in the middle of winter and they came out 8 times in one month to "fix it," but low and behold it was never fixed and still freezing in the house while my girlfriend already had the cold. I explained multiple times the issues we were having and they couldn't credit me a damn thing for basically having no heat the whole month of December and even into January. Won't be getting another 4 referrals from me that's for sure."
