"Barcelona Wine Bar - 922 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 On August 11, 2024, my recent visit to Barcelona Wine Bar in Downtown Pittsburgh was nothing short of fantastic! As my guest and I passed by, we were intrigued by the stylish exterior and the enticing menu displayed in the window. Johnny, the manager, warmly greeted us outside, sharing the details of the new restaurant and inviting us to try a few of the dishes we were eyeing. The ambiance inside was chic and cozy, with a modern yet inviting decor. We started our culinary journey with the Spiced Beef Empanadas, which were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. The Red Pepper Sauce served alongside added a delightful kick. Next up, the Broccolini with Capers & Chili Flakes was a refreshing and well-seasoned dish that complemented the richer flavors of our other selections. The Jamon & Manchego Croquetas were crispy on the outside and deliciously creamy inside—an absolute must-try. However, the highlight of the meal was the Olive Oil Cake with Sea Salt. This dessert was an unexpected delight, moist and flavorful, with just the right touch of sweetness and saltiness—a perfect way to end the meal. To wash it all down, we enjoyed a pitcher of white sangria. Although we usually prefer sweeter wines, our server Rian made sure the sangria was tailored to our taste, and it turned out to be just right. Barcelona Wine Bar will become a standout spot in Pittsburgh for tapas and drinks. The combination of great food, a stylish setting, and exceptional service makes it a place I would highly recommend. Whether you're looking for a casual bite or a special night out, this place won't disappoint!"

"Amazing experience! We can't wait to go back again! We where there celebrating my wife's birthday and I can't say enough about the food, the service, and the over all value. You can go and spend a million bucks and have a lavish meal, or you can get a drink and a one or two tapas and not break the bank. Laid back, fun atmosphere. Katie was our server and she knocked it out of the park. Just the icing on the cake, and speaking of cake... the olive oil cake is FANTASTIC! SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!"

"Overall a very good experience. 7:30 reso. Upon entry we were promptly seated. Service was efficient and nice. Good was pretty spot on. A few months ago we flew in to Barcelona and traveled Spain for two weeks so we’re tough critics. Everything was very close. The vegetarian paella was the only that missed the mark a bit. It’s not easy to cook let alone to cook to order at a restaurant. Could have been a bit crispier on the bottom. But all in all things were quite good. Four tapas. Paella to share. Two desserts. And lots of good wines! We’ll be back."
