"Great little area to hike. It can be a little hard to find though if you aren't familiar with the area as there are many branching trails. Wonderful view of the valley below. There's some history to the place as well about Polly Williams who met with her demise here. Not too far to the northwest (about a half mile or so as the crow flies) are the old powder mill ruins. There is a pond there with a campsite, the old smokestack still standing , lots of building remains and at least one coke oven that I'm aware of. There is also a neat little grotto cave up on a ledge down the trail a bit and at white rocks there is a crevice cave at it's base. Lots to explore around the area besides the rocks."
"Awesome view of 3 states and beyond. This what the settlers saw as the traversed the Alleghenies. It was the first visual sign their quest to see the west was paying off. To gain a greater view, turn right at the top and travel a few miles north to see the Cross."
"Hard to find but worth the trip! Area is known for rattlesnakes so use caution. I hiked from Skyline Drive down to White Rocks and them back to Skyline. Round trip it was a little over 6 miles and +1100 feet in elevation. I'm not sure about the numbers if coming from down by the gun club."
"Awsome place and nice hike"
"Great hiking spot! Follow the pipeline trail up the ridge and as it turns left near the top. Walk along the ridge at this point. As you pass a large jumble of rocks on the left you’ll turn right with the path. As you get to a downturn you turn right to cross a stream towards a large upward rock face. When you get to the cave turn left and walk along the rocks (some good climbing spots here: be careful) till you get to a crack on the right. Climb up and you are on White Rocks! Be very careful if the rocks are wet, they can be very slippery!"
