"Amazing company! Great communication. Quick & professional. Staff were very courteous and knowledgeable! Product was brushed on not sprayed which most other companies do. No excessive mess left behind! Will be a using them again next year!"
"I would highly recommend Castle Asphalt! They did a phenomenal job on our driveway, everyone on the crew was very friendly and respectful, and our son had the time of his life watching the process! We talked a lot with Robbie from start to finish and he was very kind and accommodating. Castle Asphalt gave us the best price of 3 other companies we had reached out to and there was no compromise in quality. We are so thankful for everyone who came out and for their commitment to excellence!"
"First contacted them at the beginning of April 2022. Mike came out and did the estimate not long after making contact. The cost to mill down and slope down the peak at just the top of my driveway seemed steep but I agreed to it. He told me it could be between 2 weeks to 2 months for them to come out and do the work. Again, I was fine with this and asked him to keep me posted. I hadn’t heard anything for three months and assumed they just flaked on me. Mike texts me saying he will be in my area next week at the time and he was thinking Thursday. That Monday no one contacted me and they dropped an excavator off at my house. Drove it all the way down the driveway and left it on my parking pad. Radio silence still, no one had told me it would be there. Thursday comes around, no one. Friday, no one. Reached out to Mike but no response. The next Monday I came home from work and the excavator that had be parked on my property for a week is gone. Still no one has communicated with me. It’s now the next Friday and I’ve called and left a voicemail to cancel, because of course, no one answers the phone. A terrible experience for a service I never even received."
"They did an outstanding job! I would highly recommend their services. **if you are googling reviews of them, please disregard those prior to March 2020. We saw many poor reviews about them before that date and decided to ask them why we should trust them now - turns out they’d had several unsatisfactory employees who are no longer working for them. They hired on some new, awesome people and now have a full, great team. We decided to give them a chance and are very pleased with the work they did. In fact, 2-3 other people in our neighborhood ended up hiring them the same day (after our driveway was done) and were also extremely pleased with their work. We have two young kids who were riveted watching all of the construction unfold, so I personally watched all of their work. I would strongly encourage you to give them a chance. We bought our house almost 3 years ago. We have a long driveway with a turnaround pad behind the house to be able to access the garage. It was clear that none of the previous owners had done any regular or proper maintenance on the driveway. It had an extensive network of deep cracks and several sections that had sunken in, rendering the entire thing unsalvageable. We tried to get quotes from several companies. One company proposed a superficial fix; another quietly came, wrote down an estimate and left it in our door. Jim, Castle’s salesman, actually worked with me to schedule a time so that I could go over the driveway with him and discuss options. This was good because we also wanted to lower the curbside entrance, as the curb was so high that any regular sedan would scrape the bottom trying to enter our driveway (my husband has such a car). Jim said it would be no problem. We agreed to the contract (which we were able to do via email, which was nice) and they were able to start work within days of giving the estimate. The tear out crew was prompt and arrived exactly when they said they’d be here. They were very efficient and conscientious - our lamppost is near the driveway and we watched as they had to repeatedly avoid hitting it when dumping the old asphalt into the truck. They also let us know that part of our retaining wall was on the old asphalt and that they would do their best to remove the asphalt without damaging it (which they were able to do). The paving crew also arrived right on time and were a seamless team. They made sure the base was flat and then poured the asphalt, making nice, sharp edges and tight corners. They also smoothed out the transition to the curb and street, which is now very nice and manageable. To address concerns we had from reading the previous poor reviews: - they did not accept any money until the entire job was completed and we’d inspected their work - they were prompt; everyone was working; no wasted time - no property damage; they did a very good job protecting our retaining wall and other fixtures - just as Jim told me, they made it a seamless transition to the concrete of our garage. We did need to leave the garage door open when the paving crew was here so they could do that. - Jim is very personable, responsive, knows his stuff and not pushy (something hard to find in salesmen) Update (8/18/20) I didn’t realize not all of my photos uploaded. Please find more photos of their outstanding work. We are still enjoying our driveway"
"Castle was first recommended to me by a friend who does side contract work and has seen a lot of Castle's work firsthand. I then inquired to my inlaws who did their old driveway 15 years ago (which had always looked great) and it was also Castle, just under a different name. I was wary about some of the bad online reviews, but I figured I'd give them a call as well as some other companies then weigh my options and go from there. I called early in the spring (late March/early April) and got a call back that day which I cannot say for any other company. Fred came out that afternoon and gave me an extremely reasonable price - I had done the measurements myself and it probably worked out to around $2/square foot if not less. My wife had a few additional questions and even though I'm about 40 minutes from New Castle, Fred drove out the next day as well to go over things. Fred told me that as soon as the asphalt plants opened they'd be out. I told him I wanted to have it done by Easter so my kids could ride their bikes and enjoy the new driveway on their days off. Despite lots of bad weather, they were true to their word and did the job in ~3 1/2 hours on the morning of Good Friday. They worked their tales off and everyone I talked to on the crew was good stuff in my book. I'm writing this a few months later and I couldn't be happier with the work Castle did. The driveway looks great and I get tons of compliments and inquiries from friends and neighbors. Would give this company top marks."
