"Its a very photogenic place and a good spot to fly drones"
"Monthly meeting for the RC flying club. Good to see and talk with hobby colleagues. Everyone is up to something interesting yet wide diversity. Flew for 2 hours before the meeting. Perfect weather"
"Contrary to the other reviews, drones are allowed. The field is decent, judging firm the perspective of a drone pilot. The biggest negative is that not only do you have to have an AMA membership, but the squadron expect you to join them too. I understand there's maintenance, but having to join 2 organizations is overkill."
"The "other" reviewer had it right. It IS a SMALL field. However, I can't imagine where he flies normally to think this dot of a field is so amazing. A 5 star review for a dump site that was filled over with dirt and grass? LOL! Oh please. It's not fit for grass ops due to its small size and VERY BUMBY SURFACE. They don't roll it, so it is far from smooth. A softball field is much, much larger, smoother and has less obstructions. I've flown there for years (rarely), but I only use it as a backup field due to its small size and horribly tall trees that encase this field in all 360°. If the president of the club took his dealings with the county and park as seriously as he asks for your AMA card, we'd have a better field to fly in and even revenue for the club and/or park. I don't pay to join that club. Why? It feels abandoned. Plan changes and take those plans to whomever you need to. Lobby to make it a full fledged field and club, and then lobby for landscape changes. Trees, the field itself and the size of the area we have to fly and land in. Other parks do it. Why not this club/park? It's basically a waste of space. I'm glad people who fly helis like it. All one can do is hover and fly up and down and up and down. Woohoo! I'll pass. This is a dead club. You'd be better to fly at a school with a smooth parking lot."
"This is a great small field. The guys that fly there are very friendly. I am from Florida and in two clubs here in Naples and Cape Coral, and a sometimes member in Brasstown North Carolina when I’m there. I’m lucky to have such good fields to fly at. I don’t believe North Park is an AMA field, but is is a safe field as it’s at a dead end of North Park and usually only pilots are there. You can fly Gas or Electric, which is important to me. Bring your own generator if you want to charge batteries. I fly mostly helis, and the field is large enough to do anything I want. Watch the trees outside the perimeter as it is known to be hard to get a lost bird out of there. I look forward to being back this summer."
