"I had sudden-onset, chronic, debilitating pain in both my feet that grew increasingly severe over a nearly two year period until some days I could hardly walk. (I’m 36 years old and otherwise in pretty good health.) My PCP referred me to a rheumatologist, who referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, who referred me to a different rheumatologist. They all said some variation on, “Humm… well, you shouldn’t really be in pain.” Couldn’t agree with you more, doc! I had resigned myself to living with the pain for the rest of my life. I was getting depressed. That’s when my wife urged me to try acupuncture. Now, my wife calls me a “hardened rationalist.” And she’s not wrong: I don’t believe in anything esoteric or supernatural and I’m highly skeptical of anything not proven by western scientific method. So she knew Eastern medicine wasn’t really going to be my thing. But at that point I was willing to try anything. I said if she’d find a place I’d go once. After the first session I didn’t feel any change, I was annoyed about having to drive all the way out to Wexford, and the practitioner told me that for the first couple of weeks she wanted to see me 2-3 times a week! Who has the time or the money for that!? I didn’t want to go back. But my wife talked me into it: “Just do it for one week and then we’ll re-assess.” The second session didn’t give me any relief either, but a weird thing happened. The pain concentrated somehow. Before, I had felt it all over my feet and it shifted around, which is one of the things that all the western doctors said didn’t make any sense. But now I could feel acutely the exact tendons that we’re affected. It wasn’t better but it was a change. That was the first glimmer of hope I had in months. So I kept going. And little by little the pain stared to subside. Now, after four months of treatment, I’m almost completely pain free! I’m back to taking long walks every day. I have my life back! I don’t know why it works but for me it was a game changer. Ming is professional, competent, and kind. And, unlike any of the string of medical specialists I was referred to, she actually took the time to listen to my complaints before starting treatment. If there were six stars, I would give them."
"Very accommodating to my busy schedule. Extremely thorough and knowledgable. Highly recommend."
