"The Ohio House, also known as the Ohio State Building, is a historic landmark located in West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Built from various Ohio sandstones, it served as the Ohio state exhibit for the Centennial Exposition of 1876. It is one of the few remaining structures from the exposition, alongside Memorial Hall and two small comfort stations. The building is listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places and is part of the Fairmount Park Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. After a restoration for the Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, it was reopened to the public in November 2007. Today, the Ohio House functions as a café, event venue, and offices, continuing to serve as a symbol of the historical and cultural ties between Ohio and Pennsylvania."
"The Fairmount Park Conservancy has done a wonderful job restoring the Ohio House and turning it into the headquarters for the organization. On the grounds now there is a sign indicating the site as the Center for Parks. I am excited to think about the plans of the organization for the Park, and very proud of what they have already accomplished. Congratulations to the Fairmount Park Conservancy for its mission and vision as well as the commitment and expertise of the staff!"
"Historic house in West Fairmount Park. The Fairmount Park Conservancy office is here. It's close to the Abstinence Fountain , the Mann Center and 2 park lakes."
"My boyfriend took me in hopes that it was still a cafe, but alas it is not. It's permanently closed. The outside is very pretty and I hope they consider opening it again as I would love to see the interior."
"It's a shame to see this beautiful building just sitting there empty. But it may be a silver lining for someone since this building is up for lease. The Ohio house was built in 1876 and restored for the Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. The building was opened to the public in November 2007 and has functioned as a cafe, event venue and offices until recent years"
