"This review is for the Masters of American Architecture tour. I went in with high hopes that I would go on a tour with a knowledgeable tour guide but that wasn't the case. One woman in the group respectfully corrected the guide when she said something that wasn't accurate, and the guide seemed offended by it. Another lady asked if the guide would include some information regarding a piece of architecture and the guide said that if it wasn't on her paper, she would not but the way she said it was rude. There were also a few things that the guide pointed out that were inaccurate and made wild guesses on things she was unsure of. It was a little disappointing since I booked this tour for my daughter, who loves architecture and its history, and she herself was wondering why the tour guide was giving false information. It reminded me of how someone who steps foot inside of a church and those who are attending don't fact check the pastor; they just blindly follow him. Same concept. This inspired me, however, to plan a self-walking tour of Buffalo's architecture and include its rich history. I know my daughter will love it. I hope this review helps for anyone considering this particular tour and if I can help save you from wasting your time and resources, that's what matters the most. Take care!"
"The Riverside tour was interesting, educational and enjoyable. The docents were good about answering questions but didn't always know the answers. Now I'm curious and want to do some research on my own. There was so much more than I thought their would be to learn. A nice surprise. Definitely recommended. My 11 year old daughter came too and wasn't always listening but still enjoyed the park and the walk. She enjoys the nature, not the history. There were no nature lessons."
"We did an architecture walking tour this past weekend. So glad we signed up because the tour took us to places we wouldn't have gone to on our own. Especially enjoyed the inside of the Ellicott Square Building and the facade of the Guaranty Building. Our tour guide Claudia was very nice, but I definitely got the feeling that the architecture tour wasn't her usual one. But if we are ever in Buffalo again, I would definitely book another. Good value for the $$$."
"Just finished the Silo City vertical tour with Larry (the mayor of Silo City) His wholehearted appreciation of Silo City exudes with every fact, personal anecdote, “Pete story”, and tale. History came to life! Highly recommend this tour!"
"This was our second tour with Explore Buffalo. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely booking another tour and telling friends."
