"I'd like to share an excerpt from my personal journal with you: "I am having severe chest pain but I will not go to the ER because I think the staff will be annoyed to check on me. I feel like a burden to them. I'd rather stay home. Unwelcoming." The staff refused for years to believe I had a twin and kept mixing us up. We had to show up together in person to prove it. They had called the police on me. Another time the doc told me it was ok for him to inflict pain on my family member because "He had been through it and survived without pain meds." He made my family member cry, the nurse cried. She was so mad at me for simply asking for numbing cream for them. She refused my apology when I didn't even do anything wrong. She refused to even talk to me after that like the adults that we are. I've asked for multiple meetings with staff after multitude of issues. Deaths. I waited 2 hrs for an appointment in which the doc gave me 5 mins, did nothing, and prescribed a med I'm allergic to and is on my allergy list. She said that's okay because the pharmacy will fix it and prescribe a better med. Excuse me for being old fashioned, but I want my doctor to know what med I'm on before I take it. Not to mention the Richard Gere jokes were unprofessional, as well as the HIPAA violations I've overheard in the waiting rooms by staff with no respect for the literal law. As my grandmother said back in the day, "IDC if I'm dying, take me elsewhere." The fact that they let a person with anaphylaxis wait in the ER waiting room terrifies me. Another woman in a wheelchair was screaming in pain and it was a slow day, they let her sit there and didn't even check on her. Her mother was besides herself. I don't think they actually care...never have according to grandma. I had a family member die in the waiting room while waiting for heart care. Rochester Regional never changed my other family members wound wraps. We had to date and sign them. He died btw, as complications to medical practice. They drugged my fiance with epilepsy and then sent him out the door falling down. They let his IV fall out and let him bleed all over the floor for an hour as we called frantically screaming for help while we watched him on video call bleeding. We talked to the nurse who said, "I'm in his room now, he's fine." SHE WAS NOT IN HIS ROOM. Another man was screaming for help. None of the call buttons worked. Nobody ever came, they let him scream. All he wanted was assistance in moving around to the restroom. My fiance sat for another 2 days in there, had an oxygen of 60 without oxygen, low 80s with it, and they released him upon which we had to drive him hours to a better hospital hoping he didn't die. I have thought about literally moving cities just because of this hospital. And I'm in no place to. So, maybe if I share this they'll begin to realize we are people? I miss the old days when they were even just simply caring. I keep hearing "Well, they're understaffed." Well, so make the jobs more accessible? IDK. Do something. I'll come over and brain storm with you! Hospitals treat the staff better and it will trickle down to patients. You're the problem! The EMT staff are usually exceptional and are much appreciated. Because they care. And not fake caring. I've had better hospital care in third world country. I'm not kidding. And better access to specialized doctors. Better testing too. I was in Asia once and actually got a lung test performed for my asthma. But I've never had a doctor in the USA test my pulmonary function. I can't even get them to send my spirometer to me for 15 yrs now. And I've asked 100's of times. The spirometer would help me manage my care so I don't have to annoy the ER for help. Simple things to make their load easier. I had thought about 3D printing a device, insane! Not safe. Complaints, they fake responded with errored info to try to satiate me. There is so much more, I can't even begin to tell you. I know you guys know. I'm fed up. Whoever is in charge, get off your butt and shake it up! Good surgical staff tho."
"Amazing Amazing Amazing 05-05-24 Brought Mom in to ER we treated with only professionalism make us feel comfortable and had the results and use out of there in four hours Thank You Ken"
"-5 stars! Horrible. Just horrible. Don’t ever go here. Every time I have gone I’m in the waiting room for 3+ hours!! I just came here with a possible concussion, I’m so nauseous and puking uncontrollably, while in the god all mighty BRIGHT waiting room I kindly asked for a blanket because the lights were causing me pain! And it was cold. Their response was “I can’t get one they’re in the back just close your eyes” completely lazy. For some reason half the hospital is shut down?? And there are hardly any bed available, How? I’ve been here almost 4 hours and people who came in after me have gotten seen and left! When I FINALLY got to go back I was sat in a hallway! (Not the first time either) and while I am nauseous the staff is devouring pizza and wings (and you’re not gonna tell me all of them are on their break at the same time) but it’s making me throw up even more and they could care less. I agree with every other bad review on here. Staff is horrible. Doctors do not care. They don’t even know what they’re doing. Please take the extra 15 minutes to go to brockport!! Brockport is so much better!! And faster! The doctors care!! And do everything they can for you!! They have actual conversations with you! They care about how you feel!"
"0 STARS Tha big older receptionist in the er was rude! I went in there crying because I was in crucial severe pain, I've never had this pain before I'm my life! I can tolerate pain but i couldnt this time . I got out of bed at 5 am to go there cuz i was awoken from the pain. first thing she said to me when I walked in was "WE DONT PULL TEETH HERE " with a attitude smh I DIDNT EVEN ASK HER SHE JUST BLURTED THAT OUT BEFORE I EVEN SAT DOWN SMH Nice way to talk to someone crying and Moaning when then pain kept coming every 2 min on n off for the 2 hours I layed in a room an they did nothing for the pain! Didn't even offer me some water or kleenex. They talked to me rude they didn't even give me ibprofen cuz I took Tylenol before I came. I'm not no doctor but I know for a fact u can take both of those at the same time smh . They wouldn't turn the light off cuz the nurse was to lazy to get the key to turn It off I guess they put me in a room for inmates, that's why a key was needed to be used to turn It off smh. The light was super bright n I had a headache too plus my eyes are sensitive to tha light at all times . U think they care . Pathetic lazy nurse. I left with lidocaine n clover oil they didn't even tell me how to apply the clover oil went home n burned my gums when i put it on. Made pain worse. Gave me No prescription when I left cuz of nys law the doc said . I guess they can't prescribe nothing no more for tooth pain News to me plus I wouldn't know that cuz i don't take pain pills on a regular, n i never had a toothache in my 40 years. They treat u like dirt here n have no sympathy for ppl in pain it's ridiculous they definitely need new nurses there pathetic and rude!"
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our mom was admitted to the comfort care section a week or so ago as we could no longer control her pain at home as she battled cancer. What an incredible group of people we encountered. Every one was caring and compassionate for not only mom but also for my siblings and I who were there around the clock. Mom lost her battle last week. We can’t thank you enough for employing such awesome people. We all feel blessed to have such a great hospital in our area. You should be proud...I know that I am."
