"I have been going to Rivas weight loss off and on since around 2010. I absolutely loved Dr. Kane and since she retired I have seen a few others within the clinics. I previously took phentermine and was suggested by one of the physicians Julie to try segmaglutide. The entire time I had been on segmaglutide for over 1 year I had gastro side effects, I had mentioned it many times to Juli as well as Ashley and it was never a concern. I was just told to take different gastro drugs, given my injection and sent on my way. After deciding on my own I no longer wanted to take the shot due to these side affects and wanted to go back to the phentermine, now the gastro symptoms are a serious concern and the physician wants me to sign a document stating that the phentermine can cause gastro problems? Why was this not a concern before when I was paying $460 a month for segmaglutide and now its a concern once I decide to stop segmaglutide and restart phentermine which is only $115 a month? This should have been a concern since the symptoms developed in my opinion not now that I wont be paying $460 a month. This makes me skeptical and very concerned to why in early summer of 2024 the entire Hagerstown clinic was dismantled and what ever happen behind the scenes was and is kept a secret. All the staff is physicians were gone and all new were brought in with no explanation. So after approximately 14 years of being a patient off and on, I am no longer comfortable or confident in my care at Rivas. I am looking switching to another clinic that is more structured and individually geared toward your personal goals and concerns as they arrise, as well as seeking other professional advice to the underlying cause of this gastro problem that developed while on segmaglutide and was ignored and is now a serious concern when i decide to stop. I feel that this clinic is more focused on quanity and revenue and less about quality patient care now unfortunately. It's a sad and a scary situation to be in."
