UPMC Dermatology - Oakland

"Was misdiagnosed with a facial "fungus" by a video appt with a PA-C. She ordered several medications on which I had co-pays. After several weeks, the "fungus" got worse. I made an appt with a different dermatologist at a different location. A certified dermatologist (Doctor) took one look at my face and diagnosed Rosacea. He prescribed the correct med which cleared it up. I received a bill from UPMC from the misdiagnosed appt (with PA-C). I appealed the bill. They were to get back to me with response & they never did. I just received another bill for the misdiagnosis. I also paid a bill for the correct diagnosis which I had no problem with. I don't think they should be billing customers for wrong diagnosis."

"Horrible experience! I arrived on time for my appointment at 11:00 AM. The screen shows the doctor is delayed but less than 15 minutes, which is nonsense. After waiting for 30 minutes at front desk, they finally led me to an exam room. The nurse asked me a couple of questions then left me there waiting. I’ve been waiting for another 40 minutes so far. Nobody has showed up or updated how long do I still need to wait. I have to cancel my another appointment at 12PM. If they cannot follow the schedule, what’s the point of making an appointment??? This is a very frustrating experience. It’s running late over a hour, still waiting…"

"Very poor staff with assisting in any way from prescription refill to even getting in touch with a person in the office. Their phone line has not answered once in seeing them for 12 months now. I’ve been lead very in the dark for over a year now and just save your time and trips from heading to this office. Disappointing for UPMC"

"Absolutely terrible, this was my first time at a dermatologist and I had a lot of concerns and things I wanted to go over, the doctor didn’t even give me a chance to talk. I was frustrated because they were blaming things like bc on my acne when I’ve had the same acne for 5 years prior bc. Their are so many things wrong with how my appointment went, they were 30 minutes behind and then I had 5 minutes to “talk” to my doctor which was just her telling me the medicine she’s making me take without even looking at my skin or asking my concerns or why I was there it was completely unpersonal and completely rushed. I hated every minute of it. Will use medicine prescribed and will never be going back."

"They do not take the time to explain anything and will bill you when they say they won't. I never write reviews for anything, but this experience was so infuriating that I did. I will go to a hardware store next time I need dermatology work done."
