About Dr. Allen Wolfert:

Dr. Allen Wolfert is a highly respected physician specializing in kidney care, with a distinguished career that spans decades. Born in New York City, Dr. Wolfert spent his formative years in the Bronx, where he attended the prestigious High School of Science. He went on to graduate from New York University before pursuing his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His residency was completed at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, after which he further honed his expertise with a fellowship at The Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth). During his fellowship, Dr. Wolfert conducted basic research in Acute Kidney Injury and provided care to home dialysis patients.

In 1988, Dr. Wolfert relocated to Pittsburgh to join Allegheny General Hospital. There, he took on the role of Medical Director of the dialysis clinic and contributed significantly to the development of the Kidney Fellowship training program. In 1998, he joined Teredesai, McCann, and Associates, PC, where he continues to provide exceptional care to patients with kidney disease. Dr. Wolfert remains the Medical Director of Dialysis Clinics and has a special interest in treating patients with kidney stones and other kidney-related conditions.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Wolfert is deeply involved in the medical community. He has served as president of the medical staff at Heritage Valley Sewickley and chaired the medical advisory board of the regional affiliate of The National Kidney Foundation. He is also a member of The End Stage Renal Disease network, which ensures quality care for dialysis patients.

Dr. Wolfert resides in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and dog, and he enjoys visiting Washington D.C. frequently to spend time with his grandchildren.
