Dr. Michael S. Heinle, MD 1211 3rd Street, Beaver, PA 15009

"My mother has been seeing Dr. Heinle for decades. In 2020, she was in a severe motorcycle accident which left her disabled and eventually was referred to pain management. Since 2021, every time she or I contact Dr. Heinle's office, they tell us to go to convenient care. The last time she was seen in 2021, I took time off work to take her and we waited nearly 3 hours past her appointment time to be seen. Recently, her psychiatrist left the practice she was attending (for reasons unbeknownst to us), referred her to a partner and advised my mom to contact her PCP to have her antidepressant filled in the meantime because the soonest available appointment was in 3 months. I called Dr. Heinle's office to inquire about the temporary refill and had a letter from her psychiatrist reaffirming the medical need. We never received a call back from Dr. Heinle's office, and my mom ran out of medication. After going through abrupt withdrawal 3 years of from SSRI use, we got a hold of their office and both my mother and I were talked to like we were seeking out drugs. "We don't prescribe anxiety or pain meds. We don't prescribe controlled medications." Okay, thats FINE, but my mom isn't on any controlled substances and her mental health was suffering because of the abrupt stop in meds. Finally, Dr. Heinle's office told us they could refer her. Okay, to who? "Not sure, you'll have to call your insurance." .... Called the insurance and they found us someone who could see us within the next 4 months. Finally, I said screw this and told her to call my PCP within the AHN network. They got her in the FOLLOWING DAY and told her they'd take care of whatever she may need and/or make sure she got the treatment she was needing. All of that over an antidepressant refill for a disabled woman? Your staff should be ashamed. Do better."

"Dr. Heinle is my 93 year old mom’s doctor for many years. For the last few years I have accompanied her to her appointments because her memory isn’t that great and she doesn’t drive. Her appointment was for 2:45 and she didn’t see him until 4:30. It doesn’t matter what time of day your appointment is you will wait well over an hour. This is unacceptable."
