"I was reassigned to Dr. Medhi in early 2023 when my endocrinologist, under whose care I was thriving, left the practice. Without any context or discussion right after that announcement, Dr. Medhi left a voicemail simply stating that she would not be continuing to prescribe one of the medications I’d been on for months and it could be discussed at my next appointment with the PA… 3 months later. So with no warning, no transition plan and no discussion with the patient to understand why I was taking the medication or the effects of immediately stopping, I was left with no option. At the appointment I raised my concerns and the PA took them back to her and I got a patient portal message from the PA after I followed up requesting an update (because no one called or emailed with the follow up that was part of the post-appt plan) and was just told simply that Dr. Medhi would not consider the previous practitioner’s treatment. She still had not met or spoken with me in person to understand anything about my conditions or concerns. Every time I have an issue with a prescription being filled at the pharmacy it’s because they haven’t written it for any or enough refills (I’m a type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic using a pump and have been for 7+ years- there’s no justifiable purpose in not writing scripts with refills or limiting to 1 refill and requiring and appt before prescribing refill. With a pump you can adjust dosage anytime at an appt but will always need the insulin). It’s always a fight and I always have to call to follow up because the pharmacy repeatedly says they have issues with the prescription or aren’t getting responses when they contact the doctor’s office. In October 2023 I got a letter they were closing the practice at the end of the month and joining UPMC. My insurance does not cover care at UPMC so I’ve been forced to find a new endocrinologist. While that’s actually delightful given the dreadful patient care, as anyone who’s ever tried as a new patient to get into a practice knows, there’s months-long wait times for an appt. Dr. Medhi’s office in the meantime has ghosted my pharmacy medical device company’s 5 outreaches for a new script for my pump and Dexcom supplies that expired this month and my 3 phone calls asking for help. In one when I spoke to a person, Eric, he said all messages left with the nurse/prescription team are returned in 24 hours and he would ping them about the urgency as a follow up to my message since I’m on my last set of supplies and then will be out. It’s been two days, I’ve called and left two more voicemails and have gotten no follow up and neither has the device company received an updated script. I couldn’t get into someone new until 2024 and I can’t control who my insurance is through. Since I haven’t started at that practice yet, Dr. Medhi is still my doctor and this script isn’t even for medication being requested. It’s for medical devices that operate my insulin pump. I find it borderline malpractice to ghost a patient who’s reached out repeatedly about medical treatment concerns. It’s also terrible care to be a patient’s doctor and have never once met, spoken to directly, or listened to their questions. After the “cold turkey” decision to just not continue with a medication and no transition plan I had a very tough few months adjusting and have struggled the stay in balance nearly as well since. She is judgemental and ignorant to her patients and, beyond that, largely apathetic."

"Dr. Medhi WAS my father's endo. After almost killing him by giving him new insulin and the wrong dosage, she blamed HIM for not taking care of himself. He expressed to her his symptoms and concerns and she accused him of lying and not taking care of himself although I make sure he does. Then called our house HERSELF and told him not to return. Therefore he did not return and they charged him for missing his next appointment. Absolutely terrible. Her PA is absolutely wonderful. But I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Dr. Medhi."

"Aside from being an excellent physician, Dr. Medhi is one of the few doctors left who truly listen and pay attention to their patients. She took time to answer all my questions, asking me to call if I had any concerns. She even inquired if I was happy with the diabetes management, and the equipment she had prescribed. I feel extremely fortunate to have a doctor like her. I trust her and her staff. Making an appointment was easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this doctor."

"Terrible bedside manner. Doctor Medhi became so fixated on the fact that I don't use a pill box to manage my medication that she failed to prescribe me what she thought would be the ideal regimen of synthroid (instead of a mix of 125 whole pills and halves, she stepped me down to 112). She cited the lack of pillbox as to why she'd prescribe an inferior regimen! And, rather than looking into other possibilities whenever my results were off, she insisted I must have missed doses. Apparently, my own routine and dedication to my health has no bearing on her conclusions. Without using a pillbox, how could I possibly know that my method was working? Eyeroll. Argumentative, and lacks respect for her patients. I felt no comfort or empathy while in her care, and each appointment we had left me feeling tense, anxious, irritable, and like I'd just wasted my time. After more than a few appointments like this, I've decided to transfer my care to another, friendlier endocrinologist at a practice where I've experienced much less hostility."
