"I was excited to see the circus, but would prefer the big cats be removed. I had to explain to my kids the animals being used as entertainment was not cool. I heard there would be cats but then realized it was very oldschool like stuff I've seen in places where animal cruelty laws are lax. I'm not a peta lover either.. I just don't want to see animals suffer. Its just very obvious something is off and ya know big cats like this should not be for entertainment. They use whips.. I'm not sure if they whipped the cats but they definitely crack them alot. It all made me uncomfortable. The cats look healthy but not.. like they don't look strong. They look weak and slow.. maybe they were tired I mean maybe drugged? Who are the vets they see? They should be at a sanctuary they can run at not be on the road in small cages made to perform. I would have paid the same just to see acrobatics. The Old school feel was cool.. Just not seeing the cats. I think they could make money and still have fans without the cats.. and then they could rehome the cats and do the right thing, but this is probably going to be shut down one day is my guess if they keep the cats. The show was good minus the animals. The people who are choosing to be there are enough."
"This circus is holding on to the horribly outdated and barbaric tradition of having animals in their circus. There are PLENTY of circuses across the country and world that are very successful WITHOUT exploiting animals for profit. Plenty of circuses that do not keep animals in cages traveling through most of the year. Plenty of circuses that don't forcefully train animals to do tricks for the sick entertainment for humans. Please choose compassion for animals and do not give your money to this sad excuse for entertainment."
"Amazing experience, so much excitement and talent packed into that tent. All the performers were top notch. Great time had by all. Thank you for coming to our small town, Battle mountain NV."
"Most amazing group of circus ladies and gents ! Their performances were jaw droppingly amazing. They are ALL so great, it makes you want to attend both shows every night they're in town. Leo the clown gave a great tour during the tent raising and he was a phenomenal performer during the show. Simone the ring master was so sweet and kind during autographs... Every single person was engaging and kind at each of their jobs! Pre buy tickets cause you definitely don't want to miss this! We will go to this show any time it comes near us, or us near it... Again, I can't say it enough, absolutely phenomenal show!"
"Culpepper and Merriweather Circus are bringing the big circus feeling to small towns and areas. As you can imagine, as a result, this is a small circus with acts and amenities that reflect that. There is not anything to do at the circus pre and post show unless you are a small child. When we went, there was a pony ride, face painting, and a jump house. The trinkets are all mainly child based, other than a few clothing items. However, the show was very interesting and well put together. I found the acrobatic acts done by Simone and Kelley to be my favorite, but there were many other interesting acts too. All and all, a very family friends and child focused event, but still worth going, for the price, if you're an adult wanting to have fun."
