"Built in 1894 for $100,000.00 when most ho.es cost around $2000.00. It was a mansion befitting of a King, designed by highly successful inventor Arthur Garford ,Elyria,Ohio inventor and producer of the GARFORD AUTOMOBILE at his Clark Street factory here in Elyria! Now the home of Rigid Tool Company."
"Cool place great to see the histor of Mr Garford."
"Very interesting place with tons of history. The guy who guided my tour was great although I can't remember his name. I would have liked to been able to see the whole house though and they could tidy it up a bit. IDK, maybe they were doing some arrangements or something ,anyways worth the tour"
"Very beautiful so much hidden detail."
"I have been a member of the historically society's for over 25 years and have become very familiar with the Hickories. If you are interested in unusual residential architecture, or would enjoy seeing what life was like for a wealthy family around the year 1900, then a visit here should be on your agenda. Better yet, for a small sum you can become a member of the society and enjoy all of its exhibits and activities!"
