"08/01/2024 - Ohio State Fair - College Student Day. Took advantage of my student discount to visit the fair and had a nice time. I invited a buddy of mine and we walked as much as we could. Ate at fair (Schmidt’s) and visited the Ohio Expo Center which had some entertaining and informative vendors. One of the best and traditional fairs the state offers. Looking forward to next year."

The fairgrounds were impeccably organized, making it easy to explore the extensive range of attractions. The entertainment was top-tier, featuring an impressive lineup of musical performances, thrilling rides, and engaging shows that kept everyone entertained. The agricultural exhibits were a standout, offering a fascinating glimpse into Ohio's farming heritage with interactive displays and educational activities for both children and adults. Food enthusiasts were in for a treat with a diverse selection of vendors serving everything from classic fair favorites to gourmet delicacies, ensuring there was something to satisfy every palate. "First time to the Ohio State Fair in many many years. Decided to take a Friday and go see what I've been missing. We watched a sheep dog show, a couple magic shows, and the lumberjack show which was my favorite. My favorite part of it will always be the ODNR area, it is so pretty and enjoyable. Obviously all fairs are just fair food vendors. I wanted some stuff but decided to go back home and throw some brats on the grill for less than $1 a piece instead of $6-$7 a pop."
"Always good fun. The kayaking in the nature area was my favorite part; the folks hosting this part were great. The science area was also great and very interactive. Wish they didn't nickel and dime you so much for rides.. without a wristband expect to pay about $5 per ride in the form of credits, and just to get a card for credits they charge $3. Talley Amusement Inc can be thanked for this. They make you get credits for the midway games aw well."
"The food offerings were reasonable compared to other fairs across the country. We took the 1/2 mile gondola ride (buy combo ticket recommend) and visited the Resource Center during Grandparent Week. They watched a lumberjack show, fished, kayaked, and enjoyed learning how to use a compound bow for archery. The midway was exciting and very big. Lots of rides and concessions. We enjoyed our first visit to the Ohio State Fair!"
