Dr. Drees earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric sleep medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society.
