"Everyone there is nice and the place is so pretty inside. But the speech therapists didn't teach my daughter anything. She literally would walk around the room playing and they would let her do that. They literally let her do whatever she wanted. And sadly the sessions are only 30 mins. Just when my child starts warming up, it's time to go. They never tried to teach her. To be honest, i dont think they have experience with little kids. My daughter will be 2 next month & I could tell they didn't know how to get her attention. They were also newer. Alot of them were because theyy just opened up that place of business. So I switched her to Akron children's speech therapy in boardman. She does amazing there. I just cant believe the difference I seen with my child since I switched her speech therapist. I can recommend this for older kids. Just not little ones at the toddler age."
"A caring and professional staff and environment, for sure. Management and staff who listen when you have questions or concerns and are happy to share ways to help your child, outside the clinical setting. For the last 8 years, my son has received Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy at this agency and I would happily recommend them to any family, looking to go the extra mile, to give their child a better future."
"This place is amazing! I first started taking my daughter last month. They are quick to call for an evaluation and after the evaluation they set up appointments that fit your schedule right away! Everytime my daughter comes out she says how much fun she had and can't wait to come back. I can already see how much this place has benefitted her. Her speech is progressing forward and her fine motor skills are already showing improvement. Since they are doing so well with her I decided to take my son there as well. In the past he has been denied services in other locations bc of his hyperactivity. They did amazing with him and even suggested having him screened for ot because it would benefit him. The staff all around is very kind and caring I highly recommend them!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"This place has been a blessing to our family. When my oldest son was in preschool the school district noticed issues. We contacted Kid's Choice and they were able to get us scheduled for physical therapy and occupational therapy evaluations. The therapist were respectful and knowledgeable. My son made progress and was discharged from physical therapy. Lori was amazing working with him. He continued occupational therapy and his skills greatly improved. All children develop at different rates and my oldest son's progress was quick. He now has been discharged from all services including school based. My youngest son had issues at a younger age. We consulted Kids Choice and he began speech and occupational therapy immediately. He still participates in speech and occupational therapy. His skills have improved especially in the social emotional domain. With pandemic we choose to stop services but he is eager to return and work with the amazing staff. Ms. Denise and Ms. Danielle has been professional, and truly care about my child. Between both of my children we have been clients for over 8 years. I have seen many changes within the organizational structure but one thing thing that has not changed is the staff and owners passion for serving children. They want to do what is right for the individual child and they understand that every child is different. As a professional in the field of education, and a parent of children with therapeutic needs there is no other place that I recommend."
"I do not recommend this place. Kids Choice Therapy made a litany of errors while dealing with my child. Here is a brief list of issues we experienced while being there for 7+ months 1. Our therapist was 'too scared' to tell us our child might need more help than speech therapy. This was told to us after 5+ months of therapy. After each session we were told how great our child was doing and how he was progressing as expected. The original therapist left for another job and his next therapist told us in our first session together that our son might be 'on the spectrum'. When asked why is this being told to us just now, their response was that our first therapist was new to practicing and right out of college and was too scared to tell us. They also told us that it was a great learning experience for the first therapist. I really didn't know how to respond to that. Kind of mind-blown. 2. After our first therapist left, we had zero communication about a replacement therapist. We show up to the next session and a temporary therapist was there explaining that she wasn't going to be there very long, but also didn't know how long 'temporary' meant. As some may know, building a relationship between a child and their therapist is important so having a temporary therapist doesn't help the long term process. After two sessions with the temporary therapist I told the office manager that we will hold off on therapy sessions until a permanent replacement is figured out. At that point, I was told they had some room on their permanent staff's calendars. So it wasn't until I said I would stop paying them for sessions that they found a spot for my son with a permanent therapist. 3. No hearing test was ever asked for or performed. Now, I am not putting all the blame on them for this. This is our first child so we were kind of relying on the professionals to guide us, that was our mistake. It wasn't until we went to a new therapist that they insisted in getting our child's hearing tested. They said it is the first thing they recommend. Makes sense to me. 4. They have extremely high employee turnover. We experienced that first hand. 5. They claimed that they do an evaluation every 6 months with each patient. Never happened. 6. After requesting all the notes from the 7+ months of therapy, we received notes that were slapped together with no actual effort put into the notes. Basically just said that our child doesn't follow directions. There are other issues that we experienced, but I do not want to get too detailed with the individual therapy we experienced. My only advice would be to please look at other locations before making a decision to trust your child's therapy at this place."
