Wooster Community Hospital Sleep Disorders Center
About the Business
The Wooster Community Hospital Sleep Disorders Center is dedicated to diagnosing and treating a wide range of sleep problems in an accredited facility. Located on the fourth floor of the Central Building on the WCH main campus, we provide comprehensive care for individuals suffering from sleep disorders that impact their health, productivity, and overall quality of life.
Sleep is a natural, restorative, and essential part of our daily routine, promoting good health and allowing the brain to rest. However, more than 25 percent of Americans experience excessive daytime sleepiness due to chronic sleep disorders, which can negatively affect the immune system, personality, work performance, and can lead to serious health problems such as heart disease and high blood pressure.
Our center focuses on common sleep issues including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, muscle spasms during sleep, and narcolepsy. We are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), ensuring high-quality care for our patients. A physician's referral is necessary for evaluation, and all our staff are registered sleep technologists with years of trusted experience in sleep medicine.
We offer PAP Education visits to assist with mask fitting, sleep hygiene, and compliance with prescribed sleep therapies. Additionally, we are affiliated with DASCO Home Medical Equipment to provide necessary respiratory and durable medical equipment, such as portable oxygen, CPAP and BIPAP machines, and noninvasive ventilation.
Our services also include virtual consultations through TeleHealth Sleep Medicine in partnership with Ohio State University. This allows Wayne County patients to be evaluated by a board-certified sleep specialist from the comfort of their own home. Any testing ordered during these consultations can be completed at WCH, eliminating the need for travel outside the community.
For third-shift workers, we offer day-shift sleep studies, and at-home sleep studies using a portable sleep-recording device are also available. Patients can be referred for a sleep consultation by entering an ambulatory/electronic order for SLCONSULT (for integrated providers) or by faxing a written order directly to WCH Sleep Disorder Center at (330) 263-8396.
