"Went to St. Liz ER on a Sunday, to have a cyst/abscess drained and removed. The entire staff, as well as all the other patients, were in such great spirits. It's like there was something in the air that day. They took care of me in the appropriate time frame, concentrating on the more serious injuries and illnesses first, then taking care of my needs when they could. Everyone was jovial the entire time. I had to return today to have my wound redressed and bandaged. There seemed to be a few workers that were slightly tired or distracted, but that's just human nature. Once I was seen, the experience was very similar to that Sunday. I love the staff at St. Elizabeth Y-Town E.R. Department!"
"I'm new to this area and I needed to visit the ER. I can honestly say the Hospital from back at Home where I lived is a tad bit better than this one. My Service, personally was mediocre. The issues I had is when I had to have an IV drip done, I had to lay on a bed in front of the Nurses Station as I saw several others laying in beds outside of rooms. Little to No privacy. There were rooms with doors back at home, here are just curtains separating rooms. You can look over and see and hear what the patient is in for, what is being done to them. The same with Me. I had a Man across the way watching me getting my blood drawn and getting my IV put in. Some of the Nurses and Doctors talking down to these patients and snapping off at them. I'm not used to this kind of medical environment. The best part is they worked on making Me well, that's all that matters. But not sure I want to come back here in the near future, God forbid."
"Terrible! As an STNA I was there with a client that I care for. The ER RN that was assigned to care for my client had very poor hygiene habits. I was there for 6 hours and this nurse DID NOT wash her hands, DID NOT use sanitizer even though she walked past it many times and DID NOT wear gloves. The RN had to insert an IV into my clients arm so I asked her to "scrub up and put on gloves". Well, she only put on gloves but then removed them as she continued to draw blood. Upset by the RN's poor hygiene habits I did report her to the Charge Nurse but even after the Charge Nurse spoke to her she continued with her same poor hygiene habits."
"Terrible experience. Had a simple abscess. Took me 7 hours to get a referral to a dentist and a prescription for amoxicillin. No sense of urgency in the nursing staff. When we asked the rn what was taking so long she got super defensive and began acting very unprofessional. Asked if I could speak with her supervisor and she threatened to call security. Looked on the my chart online service they have and the rn made notes on my file lying about what happened. Yet no where for me to file a complaint. Gave me my discharge papers and forgot my "blue paper" for my prescription of amoxicillin. So I had to call er and wait and be on hold for an hour while they figured out what was going on and finally called in the prescription. Literally affected my care. And the dentist they referred me to don't accept my insurance. What good is that. Depending where you live your much better off going to Sharon regional. Everytime I went it was "in and out" and very professional. The nurses even wear their scrubs instead of a baggy unprofessional sports team t shirt. I went to mercy because I was always told it was better but unless u got serious trauma I'd go anywhere else."
"Absolutely terrible professionalism. Waited 5 hours in the (nearly empty) waiting room and still never saw a doctor or had anyone follow up with how I was feeling (which was worse by the hour). Nurses were talking smack on their coworkers and on their phones. Turned my fiancé away at the front door and told him he couldn’t wait with me, when other patients had guests with them. Absolutely NO sense of urgency whatsoever. Will never come again. Guess I have to rely on prayer for healing."
