"Angela was so vibrant and a wonderful server/ bartender it was just pleasant experience especially visiting the city. The food was amazing, the drinks are top notch, and the view was jaw dropping. Definitely stop in. A5 wagyu for the win!"
"Firstly this place and view is so beautiful, light and airy. The decor is gorgeous. We were greeted with an edamame mouge bouge and they were tasty nice and salty. We ordered the pork buns and they were incredible! The fresh cucumber strips really added a nice texture and freshness to the pork and the mayo. I would definitely get these again. For sushi I ordered the squid, octopus, and jumbo sweet shrimp. Since I came out of my comfort zone at Gi-Jin I’ve found I love squid, the wasabi was a really nice kick. The shrimp was very tender and I really liked it. The octopus was so flavorful I really enjoyed that as well. Would order it all again! My wife ordered Uni sashimi, octopus nigiri, and salmon belly Nigiri and the Uni was the star for her, so much so she ordered another one after eating her main dish! For my main I ordered the beef udon with scallion, chili threads, and arugula. The broth was so rich and flavorful I could just dream of having it on a cold winters day and it being the only thing I needed. The beef was tender and the udon was thick and has a nice chew to it. Overall delicious. My wife ordered the miso cod with pumpkin puree. It was so good she said she’d love to go back and order it again, I enjoyed the cod as well! Overall this is an awesome Japanese restaurant! Many people might try to compare it to gi-Jin but I feel like they’re different. Otaru is way more traditional in their flavors and profiles while gi-Jin pushes the envelope more. I’m excited to keep going to both. Also shout out to our amazing server Penny, she was so great!!"
"Went on a Monday so it wasn’t too busy, Garrett was attentive and helpful for a few first timers. Their approach to sashimi is different, not necessarily easier for those armed only with chopsticks. The fish was fresh and delicate, with emphasis on what was best available. Our appetizers were tasty and tiny, but don’t let that worry you as the hot items we ordered were more than filling at the end. Of course you can’t write a review without mentioning the view of the city, which honestly was the main draw for us to try this new restaurant. But we will be back again, this time for the view AND the food."
"Everything about our dinner was great. All the food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The sashimi was delectable and the cocktails tasted great. Our server Penny answered all the questions we had and asked us about how we enjoyed each plate. Everything on the menu sounded appetizing and we hope to go back soon."
"A wonderful addition to Mt. Washington’s dining options! We had dinner for my birthday on a Friday, the food was incredible! Some of the most fresh and high quality sashimi I’ve ever had. The service was awesome, Penny was an excellent server and made my sure birthday was so special! They even brought out dessert with a candle! I can’t wait to go back!"
