Cleveland Clinic Akron General Emergency Department

"waited for 6 hours just for the doctor to look at me for 2 minutes, dismiss my concerns, offer me iv fluids even though i was not dehydrated, and ask if im sure im not pregnant (they only asked this after they did an xray, btw). when they discharged me, my papers had a section saying "if you're experiencing any of these symptoms, seek emergency care" and i was in fact experiencing all of them, which is why i went, but they were not interested in treating me or listening to what i told them was wrong with me. i wasn't ever placed in an actual room. the building was so cold my fingers and toes went numb. the bathrooms were covered in pee. they are not able to give you a wait time. they allowed a student or something to try to get blood from me, she did so in a manner that was not sterile, and dug around in my vien until my whole arm turned purple and i couldn't feel my fingers. she also poked exactly where i had been poked already so it was very sore and ultimately was unsuccessful at getting any blood so someone else had to do it anyway. after i was told they couldn't/wouldn't help me, i waited an additional hour before i was allowed to leave. i then proceeded to get stuck trying to leave the parking lot because the machine that's supposed to scan your parking ticket does not work and had to call someone to come let me out."

"Never. 12 hours while my MIL basically had a heart attack waiting in the ER lobby. And then discharged an hour after finally getting a room."

"I would think that the Cleveland Clinic wouldn't want their name associated with such an incompetent medical facility. The numerous HIPAA violations are unbelievable and the medical care atrocious. You'll get a $650.00 bill for walking in the door, whether you receive care or not!"

"Akron Generals main hospital is superb but the emergency department is horrible.. and that’s putting it in a nice way. They will leave you sitting and waiting without giving any updates on a loved ones condition when they say no visitors are allowed to be in the room even if you are a spouse. Rude staff and a dirty waiting room that had blood on some seats."

"Wife arrived here by fire department transport from nursing home with breathing problems she is 79 years old. Arrived around 8 pm they drew blood cx ray and blood pressure now 4:15 AM still sitting in wheelchair in waiting room and in in lurine because she can not walk on her own. She has been here 4-5 times no problem. Now Problem. Their standard line is waiting for a room with no ETA breathing problems and yet here she sits. Maybe they could put out a No Vacancy sign so could go somewhere for the help the Doctors at nursing home thinks she needs. Spend your money somewhere else"
