"I have never been to Coho Family Medicine prior to today. I called to schedule an appointment about 3 weeks ago, was told the doctor was on vacation and would be available on this day. I arrived to the office, walked inside and found a receptionist talking with an elderly gentleman. I politely waited for her to finish, and assisted the man out of the building. When returning to check in, the receptionist states, "You are late". Having driven over 40 miles through countless construction zones, I was still less than 5 minutes late. The receptionist then states, "Do you have a problem?? Do you even want to be seen here today?". I said yes, and explained my reasons for being late and that I would like to see the doctor. She then mumbled something unintelligible, and proceeded looking at me. After a while, she said she needed to see my ID and insurance. I handed her both and as she wheeled to the copy/printing machine, she was very huffy while making the copies. Witnessing this, I changed my mind and decided I did not want to be seen at this facility due to her rude behavior. I asked for my identification cards back, and she turned around and slammed them on the counter. I grabbed them and walked out. I will not be returning, and wish I could give less than one star for this experience."
"Coho family medicine is a doctors office done right. I have been going to Coho family medicine for nearly a year for my routine medical needs. Dr.Parker is an excellent physician who genuinely cares about your health and well being. The rest of his team have been friendly and treated me with respect. I will continue seeing him for all my future medical needs."
"We have had 4 generations go to Dr. Parker. We LOVE him. But, this week, his daughter Chayna did us in. I have been waiting for 3.5 weeks for a referral to be sent to a specialist (1 of 2 referred). I honestly did not know what the issue could be that the specialist was not receiving the referral. The specialist actually called Dr. Parker's office twice asking for it as well. They then asked me to go to the office and pick up the referral and bring it to them. Still not understanding the issue I called twice more telling them exactly what they needed and that I would come pick it up. When I called the second time Monday Chayna acted like she had not heard my messages, then snapped at me that she had sent it several times. I told her that I understood that she had, but that they were not receiving it, and her dad was very concerned that I did not have an appointment yet, and that I was willing to pick it up, take it to them, and then get the appointment. She said, "I'm very busy, I prefer to email you." and hung up on me! I didn't even know if she had my email address, and I was also calling to make an appointment for my daughter in addition to the referral. When I called to tell my family what happened, we decided that we had had enough of Chayna. And that loving Dr. Parker was just no longer enough. There have been growing issues with her with every member of our family. So, we met there to get copies of our records. She handed us the ROI forms when we asked, and told us to leave the building to fill them out. That "she did not want us in the building when SHE had patients there." As we have been patients for years, we were again absolutely stunned. We went out to our cars and filled them out. When we took them back in, we said that I would be back after 3:00 to pick up records for all 4 of us (it was 10:45, that left ample time). We specifically asked them to be printed. At 2:55 we each received emailed and texted copies of records. Here is the craziest part. In the records she herself showed the multiple times she was asked to call us with results of tests that she never called. Including a half-hour before we were in the office in person on Monday. She had typed an email to her dad regarding us coming in to ask for records - and it is an absolute lie. AND, she sent the referral to the specialist that was waiting 3.5 weeks for it and hour after I took it to them. We had hoped that we would receive a call from Dr. Parker regarding the final straw. But, as the problem is his daughter, I guess we won't be hearing from him. It's a shame that she is ruining his business."
"Dr. Parker is negligent. I saw him twice with symptoms of high blood sugar and even told him that I suspected that's what it was, but he refused to check. It took him TWO YEARS to diagnose my diabetes, and only because he randomly realized that it had been a while since I'd had blood work done. He then told me that I didn't need to monitor my blood sugar while actively diabetic, as if I'm supposed to adjust my diet based on the way the wind blows. He also forgot that my mother has MS, when she walked in with a cane and has been his patient since he took over Lakes Medical His medical assistant/receptionist, Cheyna, is a liar, too, and disrespectful. Multiple times, she's claimed to have returned my calls and gotten my voicemail, but I've never had any missed calls from the office when she says she called. She even got patronizing with me and said, "Yeah, okay, sure." when I told her that I knew she didn't call me. Strongly don't recommend. Dr Layman made a poor choice when he chose Dr Parker to take over his practice."
"I agree with the negaitive reviews, if by receptionist they are referring to the girl who also takes patients into the exam rooms and takes temps etc. Chena (sp?) Is the girl ... never understood why Dr. Steve kept her. I hadn't been in for 13 months, never had a reason to see Dr Steve. She told me because I hadn't been in within the past year I was no longer a patient and the Dr was not taking new patients. She blamed the decision on the office manager, I asked her for the managers number, she refused. I then asked her to contact the manager in my behalf, she said she would. I called 3 times over the next couple months to check, each time I got the same, could care less attitude. Finding a new provider is not a very comforting position for a 65yo who had just started medicare to be facing! I was a patient there for 7 years ... oh well, things worked out great, I found a wonderful provider on Fern Rd."
