"I've been at McKinley Tower Apartments for two years now and counting. My apartment is cozy, comfortable, has terrific views and the location can't be beat! It's walking distance the Museum, many of my favorite restaurants, Ship Creek and the Coastal Trail. I also love that it's locally owned and the the owners are onsite. They take great care of us."
"I was stationed here for two years and absolutely loved staying at this apartment building. The views from my large windows were unlike anything else you can find in town. I was able to see downtown Anchorage and even Mount McKinley on a clear day. Mrs. Lael, the landlord, was very professional and kind and was there for me for any thing I needed, big or small. There are two doors you have to enter to get into the building which lock behind you and can be accessed with a code/key so I never felt unsafe living here. There is also a parking garage for a very cheap monthly price so you can keep your car out of the weather. If I ever find myself living back in Anchorage I know where I’ll be staying."
"I lived at McKinley Tower for about 6 months. It's a great place to go if you're military, single or a couple, looking for a small space to live in for a few months to a few years. Each space has a bedroom, closets, a kitchen, and a living area. I got a great deal on the rent at only 1100 per month on the 13th floor overlooking downtown, and the harbor, and I really miss it. Rent varies from about 1k to 1400 depending on the size of the space. I had to move and the owners were kind enough to re-lease the space. They have their own website and tenant portal to report issues, and respond very quickly to those issues depending on the workload. They really are amazing people, and landlords. They're the most flexible landlords I've ever met. It's a non-smoking building so smokers have to go outside. They offer optional covered parking with an assigned spot in a secure garage. The laundry appliances are communal and coin-operated but if you find a ventless all-in-one you'll be able to have one in-unit. They have a few laundry units for rent as well. They're pet friendly, there's a one-time non-refundable fee, and if I remember correctly they prefer smaller pets due to the type of spacing. I had a house cat and it was easy to get her authorized. I know that I can always count on Mckinley Tower if I need a safe, affordable place to live in Anchorage."
"McKinley Tower survived all the big earthquakes since 1964. It's a cool building by itself but is altogether that much more dominating over east downtown for having been updated, upgraded, and transformed into the nice modern building it is under the current ownership! * Having lived here since fall of 2008, I've gone through virtually everything that's affected this building and its residents. The owners are exceptional, fair, honest, they all work hard, and make living here a great place to be. But, they don't suffer fools or coddle you - and I love that. * The location cannot be beat - especially for the price - and just look at these VIEWS - from virtually every single suite! You would love living here!"
"I lived in the building from 2009 to 2011 when I had to move to Seattle. We have retired and we have returned to the building. We could not be more pleased with our apartment, the management and the building. I dreamed of living here since my first time in it in 1958 to be on TV as a kid. Our apartment is a traditional floor plan (rare these days) with a spacious kitchen (plenty of counter space and cabinets) and bathroom (with a washer/dryer hook-up). Management welcomes diversity of tenants and lifestyles. The only downside is the lack of a full time security person which makes it difficult for folks to deliver or visit after hours and weekends. Nonetheless, we feel safe living here. Our apartment is quiet, comfortable and has terrific views. We could not be happier and plan to stay indefinitely. The perfect and best place to live in Anchorage."
