Reviews of Anchorage Museum
"Discover Alaska’s rich history and witness how knowledge can transform lives and futures! An excellent destination for families and kids to spend the day exploring and learning together."
"We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Anchorage Museum on a weekday evening, and it was an unforgettable experience. Taking our nephew along, we were thrilled to find the museum bustling with a variety of engaging exhibits, each more captivating than the last. From the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis exhibit to the explosive Volcano display, and a myriad of hands-on activities, the museum offered a rich, interactive experience that appealed to visitors of all ages. What truly stood out to us was the extensive collection of art throughout the museum, showcasing breathtaking renditions of Alaska's diverse landscapes and cultures. It was a joy to see such a profound celebration of Alaskan heritage, art, and natural beauty all under one roof."
"Amazing experience at the Anchorage Museum. They have several topics around the museum; animation, science, alaskan history, art and a planetarium. We were expecting to be there for 2 hours. But we ended up expending close to 6 hours there (your ticket allows you to go in and out, it’s valid for the whole day)."
"It is a great museum. There are a lot to explore: history, people, art, land, science.. and more. We were surprised spending more than 4 hours in the museum. (Yup we stayed until it almost closed for the day). Love it."
"Yes two stars. For a museum I felt like this place was not really all that great of a place. An overpriced entry for starters! Only to get a whole bunch of an AGENDA push or something like that and not enough actual history or heritage. It was very uninteresting to study and learn from the stuff there. Been to museums in the lower 48 and this being the main Anchorage one….it was just sub par a disappointment. The discovery zone for kids is the only salvaging point to my two stars. My kids loved that. We saved that for last after doing all the other floors above. I would hate to pay the entry fee again just to visit this section of the first floor discovery only."
